The last two home games will be in the afternoon so we won't be freezing (or not on with other Bama/Aub/SEC games)
UTEP at 12p
La Tech at 2:30pm

The game at Southern Miss only had 23000 + in attendance.
We gained an average of 800 attendance on them with that.
We have a chance with decent crowds both games to once again walk away with tops in attendance.

Question, you think there will be 23,000 in attendance for the UTEP game? And lets say it will be a perfect weather day for the game.

After the last two loses, I expect attendance to drop off significantly.

UTEP / UAB has a slightly different feel to it than UAB / USM. USM should have had more in attendance for the game considering recent history.
If we were battling UTEP for top spot I guarantee we would have had more than 23000.
The UTEP game will be the lower attended game out of our 2 remaining.
No idea what the attendance will be but it will be more than Callaway's or McGee's 8000.

And this is the reality of the UAB fanbase. We have a coach whose worst season is 6-6, has had UAB bowl eligible all four of his active coaching years, currently has a 31-17 record, and because we have lost our last two games (granted they were beatdowns) we can expect to have a so-so attendance for UTEP.
And don't think this doesn't goes unnoticed by Clark. There is a part of me that says Clark will stay until the new stadium opens, but there is also another part me that says Clark may look at a different opportunity with a bigger and more dedicated fan base, great facilities, and somewhere in the Southern part of the country. Just my opinion.

when we move to the new stadium, attendance is going to explode in my opinion.
There are MANY people that refuse to even consider driving to Legion field or that area. I don't understand that but I do understand when I hear "I can't wait to see UAB games at the new downtown stadium.". hearing this a lot.
I don't mind fair weather fans. The more the better of any type fan.

I don't buy that logic. You can't go from having 39,000 fans at the season opener then see it dwindle to less than 23,000. If Legion Field was that bad you wouldn't have had 39,000 at the opener.
And yeah the new stadium will definitely have new folks coming out to check out the new digs. But if the team isn't winning or loses a couple of games, the same thing will happen.

Agree. There lots of families that will go to the BJCC but will not go in the Legion Field area. That's not me but that probably includes most of my neighbors in north Shelby.
Not sure about exploding but I think we'll see a minimum increase of 20% on our average.

I think that attendance will be higher initially due to people wanting to see the new stadium. After that, I look for it to return the 25k range. The Legion Field excuse is, for the most part, disingenuous in my opinion.

I personally think the attendance ave and floor will rise by at least 20%. It's not just the stadium it's the whole area that'll attract people

There are people who won’t go to the BJCC. This week I had a father not allow his 16 year old daughter attend a concert because going to the BJCC “was just asking to be raped”.

I started feeling uncomfortable anywhere on Southside after the August shooting between VA Hospital and UAB Hospital. It seems like any detail and possible warnings to everyone in the area were ignored. I've walked that area for the past 34 years and never felt like this before.

Coming off two ugly losses, playing a team that doesn’t generate excitement for casual fans, and the AU-UGA game at 2:30, I’ll go with ~17,000.

RE: La Tech Game - 2:30 Kickoff nm
We've never had great attendance for hosting UTEP in football that I can remember. It's a November game (ours and everyone else's worst attended games) and we just lost 2 in a row because we had zero offense. I expect it to be terribly attended, but I really hope I'm wrong. If we can manage to clean up things on offense and have a good outing against UTEP, then there might be a chance we have a decently attended La. Tech final home game.
In our last 2 games:
We have only gone for more than 35 yards on offense TWICE out of 25 attempts. Both times were essentially in the final drives of the game after we were losing by 30 points.
Thrown 5 interceptions.
We are playing as bad as we can possibly play on offense and we've done nothing in the previous 2 games to think we will play any better right now unfortunately.
ESPN FPI:
#115 Offense (worst rated offense we've had on ESPN FPI that goes back to 2005)
#63 Defense
#64 Special Teams
#103 Overall Rank

That dad is trippin The Jonas Brothers were there this past Wednesday.
I hope this team will score in the double digits tommorow.

And that's just ignorant on his part. A right to be concerned? Absolutely! But just be aware of your surroundings and things will be fine. But in today's climate, going to school isn't even safe anymore so is he going to start home schooling his daughter?
