Schools like WMU and Minnesota are/were good fits for Fleck and his Us vs. Everyone theme he'd bring to the locker room. Both schools have consistently "decent" track records (rarely a bottom feeder), yet were often overshadowed by a few other consistently stronger performers within the conference.

The Disrespected David vs. Goliath angle and "I'm gonna hustle to put little ol' us on the national map" works to a degree with a MAC school like us or middling B1G West school like Minnie. Both schools willing to roll the dice with oars, boats and slogans.

So I'm curious to see if Fleck's shtick would translate to a true blue-blood program that's always played the role of Goliath. Schools that, unlike WMU and Minnesota, are accustomed to seeing ESPN Game Day on campus and being ranked in the Top 20. His whole routine would need to adjust.

That's a good point, but I'm not sure he needs to adjust it that much, right now everyone but Alabama and Clemson can claim to be the underdog.

Yep.

Don't think it was 7 years long at WMU, but that hardly matters anyway, big schools will pay an incredible amount to buy out coaches whether they want to hire or get rid of them.
