Cal Baptist seems to be building in strength. They picked up a 4-star transfer from TCU... Russell Barlow, a 6'10, 235-lbs, sophomore center. Based off his stats, he was little used player this season. He has enrolled at CBU mid-year. So, there is a chance he will be eligible for WAC play this time next year.
Jans needs to get busy recruiting in the spring. Rick Croy looks like a legit good young coach... and Milan Acquaah should be back for another season.
it is crazy how much recruiting Seattle's Hayford is doing outside the US... Slovenia, England, Australia, Italy.
He never played at TCU. He scored 2 points in his two years there.

NMSU has 4 scholarships available for next season. I'm sure Jans is going to sign some good players. He has done it every year.

One thing I’ve learned about Coach Jans is you never know what the roster is really going to look like until the first semester starts. You also probably won’t hear too much about people signing until they actually sign. I wish we could get some news, but I just don’t think that’s going to start happening.
I would be shocked if he didn’t pull in at least a solid recruiting class.

Jans has targeted 4-5 JUCOs who could help NMSU immediately. The Four that interest me are... PG - Rudi Williams, PG - Eric Boone, PF - Marial Mading and Wing - Jordan O'Neal. O'Neal has three years of eligibility. I would be happy if Jans could sign at least two of those four. I also think Jans might go the Grad Transfer route. But most if those players don't throw their names into the transfer portal until late spring/early summer.
NMSU does have a solid nucleus returning and a couple of RS who could help.

RE: WAC Commits 2020-21
As I've already mentioned on the Aggie board, it appears NMSU has landed South Florida transfer Mayan Kiir. He is a South Sudan native who came the States but way of Australia. Kiir is a 6'9, 218-lbs, probable Junior-to-be. He is a former 4-star HS prospect in 2017 who originally signed and played at LSU. Kiir's stats were modest at USF, so it is unclear how much of an impact at NMSU he will make initially. He has a lot of raw talent, length (wing span), and athleticism.

We'll see, averaged nearly 5 points, and 3 rebounds in 12 minutes per game. Hopefully Jans can get the best out of him.

This Kiir kid is either academically challenged or has attitude issues. However, every kid is different. Zach Lofton had the same transfer record and he turned out to be a gem in the gym! We need big men bad with the graduation of Ivan next year and McNair is pretty raw. Hopefully McNair can improve his sophomore year the same way Jabari Rice did.

Very cool, it looks like he is listed in the NMSU student directory, so if it is him, he is enrolled.

RE: WAC Commits 2020-21
If true, Jans has added two 4-star D1 transfers.... South Florida transfer Mayan Kiir (6'9, 218-lbs, Junior-to-be) and now hopefully Oklahoma State transfer Marcus Watson (6'6, 210-lbs, Sophomore-to-be). However, I'm not sure when either will be eligible to play at NMSU? Both will need waiver to play before next December.

I think both will wind up playing their first game after the end of fall semester like Trev did

If Watson did not play this season, he could be considered still a freshman next December.
Both are impressive athletes...
Marcus Watson
Mayan Kiir

Well, Jans is one to give second chances. But, he is much tougher than Paul Weir setting the ground rules and holding players accountable. He has done well with Zach Lofton and Terrell Harris so far.
If Watson is truly an Aggie, Jans is infusing a lot of athleticism into next season's squad... We already have a very athletic Johnny McCants and a high energy Jabari Rice returning. But now we add 6'9 Wilfried Likayi, 6'7 Rashaun Agee, and return 6'4 Clayton Henry; all sitting out this season. And we have added D1 transfers 6'9 Mayan Kiir and 6'6 Marcus Watson. Plus we have the NLI of 6'5 JUCO Jason King.
Wilfried Likayi
Rashaun Agee
Marcus Watson
Mayan Kiir
Jason King

Both didn't even play one game this season so they could be eligible right away in the fall.
