OT: Georgia Tech Penalties
https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basket...season-ban
Four years probation. Fine of 2% of basketball budget. Loss of 1 scholarship for four seasons. Eight week ban on official visits. Loss of 19 recruiting days.
So Georgia Tech cheated and still couldn't/didn't win? That's so DePaul.
In all seriousness, between the severe sanctions given to Georgia Tech and DePaul, you'd have to imagine that the hammer will also be coming down hard on Kansas, LSU and Arizona, right? It would be insanely hypocritical to punish one set of programs and not the others.
If Ohio State Football, USC Football, UConn Basketball and Syracuse Basketball can all be given the hammer, other "known" programs can and should be too.

correct... So will now only be 2 Tuesday games instead of 3. Means 10 seed would get a bye and go straight to facing 7 seed(which could be huge for tourney).

That will be interesting to see if it has bubble ramifications (it likely will). I'd be upset if I was the Greensboro Coliseum (just missing out on an extra game to host for the tournament).

RE: OT: Georgia Tech Penalties
As I long-time Memphis Tiger fan, I struggled to accept JPastner as the head coach. He always seemed in over his head in many areas (working with the media, fan relations, knowing X's and O's, etc.). I did respect his work ethnic and recruiting tenacity. But I never fully embraced him as coach. Now to be fair, I have various doubts about Penny Hardaway, too. He might be, like JP was, somewhat unqualified to be successful over the long haul.
I'm not sure the GaTech probation will hurt the ACC too much, as the program has been middling for some time. Still, it will has at least some negative impact on the league and a big blow to GT.
And as GW11 notes, there is a good chance the iron anvil will fall on Kansas, LSU and Arizona. As a Memphis fan (a program that has been known to cheat over the years), I will be able to relate to the pain the fans of those schools will feel when the penalties hit.

what it will do is knock out that orphan 1 game session at night the 1st day. They did noon/2pm/7pm. Now that'd be you'd think 630/9 or something like that.... The whole day didn't even draw 10k so it may wind up not hurting attendance that much at all.
