Hokie envy.... Sad.....

I would go 106 - your players will be able to hear and see you. 204 and you’re going to be in a sea of Monarchs. The lower level has awesome sight lines.

The best atmosphere you can have is winning football. All else takes care of itself after that.

I like the new rumble in the stadium when everyone starts stomping their feet on the floor. My son thought it was an earthquake!

We need a new camera crew. Bad across the board from the game stream to post game presser. Terrible look, especially for anyone streaming the game. Also, I’ll say it again, we can do better than ted and Andy. Mainly ted. Two very easy improvements that can be made.

First game in a new stadium with different camera angles and sight lines. I am sure they will be fine.

I think two immediate changes to the game atmosphere that would help is fixing the run out and putting the band back in the end zone. I went back and looked at the video from pre-game and it looks like they tried to do the light show before the team took the field. I'm not sure if this is the big thing that Harry mentioned, but light shows don't typically work well when the sun is out. Those of you who mentioned the visiting team taking field first, I think that is a great idea. I would love to see the admin make that change immediately. I'm also pretty sure half of us would volunteer for free to assist with the team running out at the right time. Looks really JV. As for the band, I hope the west side enjoyed them playing. My wife asked me half way through the second quarter if our band was going to come to the game, she actually didn't even know the band was in the stadium (we were sitting in 204).

I had the same experience with the band, and am also in 204.

The good thing about the light show entrance is that the sun will set earlier and earlier as the season goes on. The bad thing about the light show entrance is that we have 2 6pm kickoffs as the next 2 home games and then 3:30pm, 2pm, and 2pm as our last 3 home kickoff times of the year. So the light show may not even be able to be used properly for an entrance this season

I know NSU has a better band than ODU, but did anyone else get pissed that every time we started playing the NSU band would just drown us out on purpose. I thought that was classless. I couldn't care less if we never played them again.

That is now the MEAC and SWAC do it. They allow and encourage the bands to battle it out during the game. The rule for them is "Bands shall not play music while the ball is in play, or while signals are being called by the quarterback." They're free when the live actions stops.

Booman probably knows the rules better than us. The bands are suspose to take turns between tv time outs and team time outs but our band didnt care to battle Saturday.

I remember a few years ago vs. NSU the refs stopped the game and warned the band to not play during live actions.

Yup, it should only be run during the start of the 3rd quarter and at night. Otherwise it's pointless.

I think it is really awesome in that scenario though.

Replace both of them. Both cornballs. TA is like the hype man who never made it off the grade school playground and AM needs to understand he's in front of a camera. Cut the damn hair and take a few of Hanke's public speaking classes HOT DAMNNN its a joke.

I sat in 218 which was right next to the NEZ and was watching the drum majors very closely (I loved their bands and couldn't wait to hear them play). During the first half, the NSU drum majors were constantly raising their hands to start playing but Dr. T kept playing between every play. They were patient until they literally were not getting a chance to play, which is when they threw care out the window and started playing whenever they felt like it. I don't think it was classless, they weren't given much of a shot to play, at least imo.

Drowning us out on purpose? They play loud and that's the only way they play. They're not going to change for anyone, nor should they

Completely agree. Usually other teams don't bring their band so Our band can play between every play. If never given the chance between plays of course they will play at the same time. It's not their fault they are louder. At least they didn't play during the game, only during down time.
