You guys....are in real trouble as a conference. It's a good thing you are at 14 teams because if you had a FBS conference with 10 teams have results like that from 40% of their membership, you'd be less than irrelevant.
Be careful judging an entire conference on 4 games....I cannot wait when the losses come just as fast to the almighty SBC this season....We can tell also the rage with Sun Belt fan has been building for years, we are definitely in your head and now you guys over here acting like fools after 4 games..
From top to bottom I still think y'all have a slight leg up. I don't think this is rage as much as a response to years of arrogance aimed towards the SB.
We have been fed the narrative that CUSA is just better, and now it appears a lot of people think that is no longer true, including some of your own. I'm sure that is a tough pill to swallow.
From top to bottom, the Sun Belt is better. The top of the Sun Belt is higher rated and the bottom of the C-USA is among the worst. They had something like 4 schools below 120 in S&P?
The stats say the Sun Belt has surpassed C-USA and it happened around 2015. That gap will only continue to grow as Georgia Southern and Louisiana regain form.
So the Sun Belt schools will "regain form" and the CUSA ones wont. seems logical.
Because the Sun Belt schools are trending up while the C-USA football programs are withering away. I can't think of one C-USA program who is on an upward trajectory in football. FAU will get the benefit of the doubt as long as Kiffin is there but it's all a facade. Marshall and USM are slowly withering away as the rest of the conference wilts.
Georgia Southern fired Tyson Summers and immediately won 10 games the following season. Troy won 10 games. App won 10 games. Louisiana managed to make it to the conference championship. Arkansas State is consistently good and finally performed as they should in out of conference play.
South Alabama will have an on-campus stadium soon, Georgia State has a coach in his 3rd year and is finally getting his own guys in, Texas State made a move to bring in a guy who fits in with where Texas football is at right now.
Two programs I see stagnating a bit in the Sun Belt are ULM and Coastal. ULM beat Southern Miss last season while Coastal demolished UAB.
So yes...I see the Sun Belt football programs on an upward trend that, if the coaching hires work out well for App and Troy, will leave the Sun Belt in competition with the MWC in rankings rather than with C-USA.

Sun Belt fans, great, you've been slightly better than our chicken poo football league the last few years. This is still the isle of the misfit toys for all of us.
And good on you. Sun Belt schools have outperformed CUSA schools with traditionally more resources, and higher budgets. Y'all backed into a better TV deal. You can't even pretend like that was on purpose. Those same things that have made y'alls success fun though will, at some point, be the downturn. You can't expect schools with smaller markets, less students, less academic prestige, less history, and smaller budgets to keep outperforming us. If it happens good on you, but the top of your league will just get raided. again.
Until then, rub it in our face that your conference was slightly better than ours.
Slightly better? Keep telling yourself that. C-USA had four games last night:

Georgia Southern is an all time winning FB program but ULL? What form are they going to regain?

RE: ESPN: CUSA stole the wrong programs from Sun-Belt
I am starting to think the "football drives the bus" truism is fading to an extent.
What/Where did football drive the bus in the past?
---better conferences with more money during re-alignment
-- big TV contracts
--better/more media exposure
Today ALL the G5 have been increasingly minimized by the media.
TV contracts for us have been reduced or flat.
Opportunity to move to a "better" conference appears very limited.
Yes the AAC has advantages but is not expanding.
The "hope" of a Big 12 shakeup may be a pipe dream.
Attendance is down across college football.
NFL dominance is only growing.
Basketball may be less impactful than football---not as much in the G5 world IMHO.

This is literal stupidity. You have 4 teams with 10 wins because the rest of the league is butt trash.
"no programs in CUSA are trending up" - FAU, FIU, Charlotte, North Texas, UAB would all beg to disagree.
Go ahead and show off those Appy and ECU educations though. Bless your heart, cause you sure ain't got a brain.

The league is trash compared to what?
Your champion was boat-raced by the 7th-best Sun Belt team.
A 4-4 ULM team beat a 5-3 Southern Miss team
A 5-3 La Tech team barely beat a 2-6 SBC team
App beat the CUSA runner up and second-best team without breaking a sweat.
And what have any of those teams you listd done to show they're on the rise by having a couple of good seasons? FAU dropped off a cliff without losing their coach and it looks like UAB could very well do the same against a really bad FCS team.

You don't have to enter discussions about the SunBelt on a CUSA board. If you don't like the topic, stop showing up.

I occasionally go over to the SBC board and post some friendly comments. I don't think I've ever been negative on their board. I don't see that many CUSA people over there posting when I do visit.
I do find it enlightening that so many SBC folks come over to our board. It's human nature to want to hang out with big brother. I welcome all my SBC brothers and sisters.

clt apologizes, admonishing means “ speakin to” in appy vernacular.

You're out of your mind if you think Georgia Southern would leave a conference with App State and an in-state conference rival that sells tickets to get more travel costs and a smaller cut of CFP money.
The only Sun Belt team that might leave for CUSA is Texas State to be with UTEP, Rice, UTSA, and UNT. No one else will budge.
ULL would leave too
They might have at one time, but not now. They're in the right place.
Bullshite. They would leave in a heartbeat.
Maybe if you keep saying it it'll be true one day. And before you say ULM would jump to CUSA, our AD put out an article last year saying that's bull**** and that the Sun Belt is better.

Since last round of realignment...
CUSA has more bowl appearances.
Has more teams with Top 25 rankings.
More home games vs P5 schools played and more home games vs P5s scheduled for the future.
Reality is, Sun Belt has closed the gap but still has a long ways to go to catch CUSA.

It’s safe to say that all UL fans wanted C-USA at one point in time, but that’s no longer true. We are very happy where we are, I do like some teams from C-USA but if we were to ever be in the same conference I only see it if they would come to the Sunbelt not vice versa.
I guarantee you a majority of your fans don't feel that way. Across the board, all sports, CUSA is head and shoulders above the Sunbelt.

Lest we not forget though... CUSA is more superior because WKU finished ranked a few years ago... right??
No, because the top teams in CUSA are better than the Sunbelt.
Yep Tech dominated their Undefeated champ by 21 just a couple years ago
You guys need to work on your reading comprehension skills. The article clearly talks about this year and about G5 football conference perceived rankings. For the life of me I don’t know why we’re talking about basketball and bowl games from 4 years ago. Maybe the CUSA members need to focus on the here and now before you lose to another D2 school. Actually, forget that, I made easy money betting the points against WKU and UAB.
To deb025, who just down voted me, please see GA States win vs Tennessee today and then reread my post. Why so salty bro?

You don't have to enter discussions about the SunBelt on a CUSA board. If you don't like the topic, stop showing up.
clt cannot appreciate the irony more. An appy from another lowly conference posting on a cusa chat page and admonishing a cusa chat pager.
clt apologizes, admonishing means “ speakin to” in appy vernacular.
clt apologizes again vernacular means....this is pointless, appys won’t figure this out
LOL
