This is exactly what I expected. As I said long ago—there is a reason Mueller fought against this kind of public testimony. He is not the guy he used to be. He either is suffering from some degree of diminished capacity or had little to do with the day to day function of the investigation (likely both of these assumptions are true). This has been a very bad day for the Democrats. Don’t be surprised if the Dems cut this embarrassing display short of the full 5 hours.

Wow. Just wow. The democrats are shooting themselves in the foot and shooting Mueller in the process.

One point that I see got missed. In Ted Lieu's questioning about the three elements of criminal conspiracy, he hit on the first (obstructive act) and second (nexus to investigation) pretty hard, but kind of glossed over the third (criminal intent) as if it could be inferred from the other two. He questioned Mueller very specifically about one and two, but had no question for Mueller about three. Lieu is a clever lawyer and knows how to gloss over such a point in jury argument. But that is a very serious point that I don't think republicans have done enough to address. Intent to fire Comey or even Mueller is not criminal intent. As president, Trump has constitutional power to fire them. What would make it criminal is if, as with Nixon, there is an intent to hide an underlying crime. Without conspiracy, that underlying crime is hard to establish.

Mueller goes in front of Schiff's committee after lunch. That will be like the Ambulance getting in a wreck while taking the patient from the train wreck.

I also predicted that would happen back when they announced he would testify. Anyone watching this supposedly legendary long time powerful prosecutor stumble through his written statement a few months ago should have known this would be a disaster.
