Jeff Brohm for Louisville fans...lol
I still hope we ended up better off.
Only time will tell
I think Satterfield will be an awesome hire. Year two should be much better. If nothing has changed by year three...start to worry.

We are showing our age.
We are probably the only ones here’s that remember that magazine.
I always liked Gallery and The Girl Next Door...lol
Shaking head yes...Both had err great articles.
I enjoyed looking at those articles.
Mark You and I may qualify as dirty old men now...lol
Not sure about Ken here... don’t know how old he is...lol
You guys are still babes in the woods. My interest in sports started when Bobby Thompson's home run cost the Dodgers the pennant in 1951. My interest in girls started a bit later.
You probably never imagined Cuse, Louisville, BC and Miami would be in the ACC back in the early 60's.

That's interesting. Can't speak for ken, but back in the early 60's who woulda thunk GT would leave the SEC later in the decade, SC would leave the ACC to become an independent a decade later, and FSU had just started its FB program back up in the late 40's (read: wasn't much to talk about).
My parents are thank Buddha still alive and kicking in their 80's. They lived in South Georgia in the early 60's. They still today talk about how Valdosta High School had a nicer FB stadium than FSU back in those days and they drew more fans to their games. FSU's story is a great one. In truth, the ACC's growth story is one that should be appreciated. I'm not a John Swofford fan by any means, but can't argue much that he along with the member institutions' leadership have made a lot of smart decisions over the past 20 years...and, Corrigan and others before him.

About all I knew of the ACC in those days was that UNC had a pretty good pipeline to New York basketball players and you should never bet on an ACC football game because they were too unpredictable.
I spent a semester at BC in 1962. They had a good football team that year, but turned down a bowl invite. I remember thinking when I went to a basketball game that fall (Bob Cousy was their new coach) that my high school gym was better than theirs, and our games better attended.

Cousy... haven’t heard that name in years. My Dad used to talk about Cousy and Havlicek. Great players...
Dad played against Havlicek in high school. Said he was the best player in the game until Bird came along. Dad said Havlicek never stopped moving. He wore you out made you play defense when he didn’t have the ball. Guys just don’t play like that anymore.
Ken my Dad would have been 80 this past February. Judging from the players you are talking about you must be in that era too. Makes me feel like a young whipper snapper...lol
Thanks for the memories

I wouldn't call that "got away" ...I'd call that Dodged a bullet!! For what he was asking for, etc.... I think Coach Satt is not only the Best choice at the time, but the Correct choice regardless of who was available.
