I like this approach lol.
I also think it's hilarious how serious we all are about our BBQ.
I guess we can all find common ground by laughing at the Yankees that think BBQ is hot dogs and hamburgers.

But it's not BBQ. That title is only for pulled pork.
Hell man any meat smoked over low heat is BBQ and I'll gladly eat whole hog, pork butt, pork ribs, brisket, chicken, turkey, and sausages and enjoy myself.

I live in the county that has Lexington, NC as it’s county seat. We are a bit bias around here. There’s fights over the 2 main BBQ restaurants even though they are pretty similar.
I will admit vinegar based sauce is an acquired taste though. But I’m not even a fan of BBQ slaw, have to have normal white slaw with BBQ.

I stopped at one not too long ago, can't remember which. It was good, not the best I've had but yeah not a fan of the slaw.

Most of the true BBQ places around here do not have the white slaw option, it kills me. I'll even get red slaw and ask for mayo to put in it, now that's supposed to be Duke's mayo around here, but that's another debate.

If you're going to a BBQ joint that doesn't have normal slaw they're trying too hard and screwing up.

I prefer the slaw they make in Pennsylvania. Cabbage, onions, vinegar and a pinch of salt and sugar. I don’t like mayonnaise or bbq slaw so I skip it in 99% of NC bbq restaurants

No mayonnaise at all? Good slaw should certainly contain vinegar and sugar (keep the onions) but it's got to have something to hold it together.

Only thing I'll eat mayonnaise on is BoJangles seasoned fries or a banana and mayonnaise sandwich, but mayonnaise in slaw is nasty.

Eating mayo on fries but not in slaw is reason for deportation from the south I believe.

I...I...I don't know how to respond to this. I don't like mayonnaise on sandwiches or burgers certainly not in the ways you described but cole slaw, potato salad, macaroni salad can you even make these things without mayo?

Cole slaw is awful. Mayonnaise is not a condiment adults should not eat. Texas caviar is the ultimate side dish.

Best slaw is mustard slaw at Rendezvous in Memphis.
Comment from random YouTube video of dude making it wrong:
Charlie Vergos Rendezvous Mustard Slaw has NO MAYO in it. You can buy it packaged at the Kroger Deli in the Memphis area and this comes from the package.
Ingredients listed on the slaw: cabbage, sugar, mustard, hot sauce, red wine vinegar, soybean oil, white vinegar, carrots, garlic, paprika, celery seed.
BTW, they will ship their product to you if you cannot come to Memphis.
