Here is a link to Tyus Jones' basketball reference page: https://www.basketball-reference.com/pla...sty01.html His Drtg was 114 last year. Delon's was 107.
They don't have comparable PERs. Delon's has never been under 15, the league average. Tyus's has never once reached 15, the league average. They both have played 4 years. So literally using your stat, Delon is an above average player, and Tyus is a below average player.
We didn't pass on Delon, we traded him. Which was better than passing on him, but still a mistake.
Delon wanted to be in Dallas. He wanted to start (he wasn't going to start here).
Front office was smart and got assets in return for him instead of losing him for nothing.
You're making Delon out to be better than he his.
What he is is much better than Tyus Jones. And we had Delon’s RFA rights, so we’re in zero danger of losing him for nothing.
It’s a bad move. And an overpay. Minny was right to let him go.
Much better? There's no proof of that...it's just an opinion at this point.
And you know very well what Minny is doing....nice deflection :)
Much better for anyone who has watched Tyus Jones play. Is that better?
And what deflection? Minny, who drafted and developed Tyus for 4 seasons, properly made the decision that he is worth no where near 3/$28M, as the deal is now reported. Because it's a huge overpay. Jesus, you are making this so much harder than it is.
TigX - you are making it way harder on purpose man. Reports out of Minny outlines their plans clearly.
Going by watching someone play is pure deflection. Stats over a career are more reflective of a player's value. Heck, I doubt you watched Tyus play last season especially when DRose went down.

If one watched Tyus play the same time when Delon played with the Grizz, one may think Tyus may actually have been the slightly better Point Guard.
Regardless, I'm done here. I have cited enough stats (career and then specifically Delon's time with the Grizz) and am not going by just "eye test."
One is not significantly better than the other. They are comparable players and having either won't affect the Grizz' future long term.
