Congratulations UTSA
Just when I think you guys are sandbagging it and giving in to mediocrity, you step up to the plate and do your part to help improve this conference.
Someone please tell me about this new $44 million facilities project you are about to break ground on.

Looks like they left off the upgrade most needed. A basketball arena. This is why a lot of eastern schools want away from the Texas football schools who think football first, second, and third. Basketball is a after thought, if that.
Troy built their basketball arena that holds around 5,000 for 40 million. Looks like UTSA could have turned that building into a basketball arena and still had the practice field

I disagree. Football is new at UTSA compared to basketball and has very little on campus facilities. We’ve had basketball for a while and while the facilities need updating, at least they have some. A new arena is in the works too but football needs were greater.

North Texas has always done pretty good at basketball. Fan interest is pretty solid it seems like.

They have? They're 781-981 (.443) all-time, over 64 seasons. I've never really thought of UTSA as a good basketball school by any measure, and we're 563-559 (.502) all-time, over 38 seasons. Now, I think UNT is 15-12 all-time against us, but the numbers don't at all indicate them as being always pretty good at basketball.
Edit: Maybe you were just talking about fan support though.

UTSA is in the works of getting funding for state of art athletic facilities on campus.

With the constant adding on, could a stadium be part of those additions?
I dont care one way or the other about an on campus stadium, but do think it would do wonders for the students

Yes that is in the plan. If anyone hasn’t been in San Antonio lately it blowing up. The downtown building are making it look huge. They are also building more down there. Then when we complete the the Campus it’s going to be crazy. I talked with some VIP’s at UTSA and I’d say in 5/6 years the school is going to be very big, lot of athletic facilities, new buildings, obviously a Baseball field & Basketball arena, a long with the 50 mil athletic/ football facilities for practice indoor & weight lift. They might use their old field combined with extra land to build a stadium on and land around it, not sure yet though though. Red McCombs and a few other are interested in investing, mainly Red’s son. SA just needs to expand highway. You will see a lot of change at UTSA. They are also doing a great job at expending the modern new dof Downtown. SA is has grown near around 20% from late 2008-2018. They r expecting double 30-35%?over the next 10 years.

Lastly Austin & SA are looking into a football team or SA want another bad. Which would really help.

I imagine you are thinking some semi-pro team, as you are just dreaming if you think NFL is coming to Austin or SA at this point.

If San Antonio and Austin could figure out how to combine markets, it would be one of the biggest markets in the NFL and could support all 4 major league sports.
