Hell, they only have a platform once every 4 years.

Then why does the media keep them, or their spokeswoman Rapinoe, in the spotlight?
I never know they say anything until someone here posts about it.

You get your news from here?

People post here what they see in the news.

Did you know Rapinoe is going to be one of the new Victoria Secrets model? VS decided to get rid of their hotties and go with notties.

Yes they call this new line of lingerie "Fish Tails".

Rapinoe's freedom to be her does not supercede my freedom to be free from her. Thus, whatever she does behind closed doors does not bother me a bit, but when the US National Team is politicized with such divisive displays, I refuse to watch.

This is just such horse **** Marc. I realize you don't care (or don't know AND don't care) but these are the things that make your side of this argument look stupid.

What you do in your personal life... what you do when you're representing yourself is up to you. Speak away. Be controversial. What you do when representing 'team America' is not about YOU. It's about US. WE make 'team America' possible. I mean seriously... when considering who is the best athlete and thus whom should compete here, should we REALLY be evaluating their political opinions?? If your need to speak out on an issue is so great that you can't put it aside for a few weeks during an International competition, then maybe you should be devoting your efforts THERE rather than towards the competition?? I'd similarly ask people who are against her to avoid bringing it up as well, at least during that time.

You wouldn't support a police officer putting an '&%$# Biden' sticker on his cruiser, would you? How about "ALL Lives Matter" on his service weapon? I mean I don't know about you, but I think "all lives matter' is a GREAT reminder to put on his weapon, but the politics of that could be problematic. How about a poll worker wearing a Trump shirt? Free speech, right?

Bottom line is that the moment you join a team or a company, you have SOME obligation to represent that team or company.... at least while you're in uniform or performing your contracted tasks. The team similarly shouldn't ask you to represent THEIR political beliefs etc... but that is why you can choose not to participate. That in and of itself might be an even bigger political move, if that is your goal.

I realize taking a stand against racism is controversial with conservatives in this country but it’s also why we’re gifted the freedom to speak… particularly when it makes some a bit uncomfortable.

Liberals don’t know how to put their personal beliefs aside for the greater good.
That’s why most of them have never be part of a team or served in the military.

Liberals are soft in morals and even softer in character.
Never depend on a liberal to make a tough decision. They simply cannot do it.

Personally I hope any athlete that disparages our Nation during the Olympics fails.

While I respect their right to make a spectacle of themselves, they need to respect most Americans right to hope they don’t win a damn thing.

Is denouncing racism disparaging our nation?

No, but making up false allegations of racism is.
