Who pays tariffs on Mexican imports? Hint: It ain't Mexico!

No it's companies based in Mexico.

Who raise their prices, so then who pays for the tariffs? Got mirror?

Question is do we buy all those products? Do you know what products we ship to Mexico to have it turned around and shipped back to us?

All of them, but that's their plan. You get caught, claim asylum, they process you, don't have room to keep you, release you with orders to appear, never show up, stay here until ICE finds you, which could be somewhere between 6 months and never. If caught and deported repeat the process.

We need a much stronger goal line defense.

Along with empowering and training state and local law enforcement agencies who desire to do so the ability to enforce immigration law.

States and local municipalities hire and pay these guys to enforce state and local law. I'm sure they don't want them doing federal work on their dime. Or if the feds pay them, taking time away from their state and local duties.

Congress has been punting on this issue for years now. We need to stop putting these failures back in office until they start doing the job we want them to do.

You obviously have no law enforcement experience.

The overwhelming majority of interactions that law enforcement has with illegal aliens happens during the execution of other law enforcement activities. It is a waste of time and more importantly money to have to involve ICE in a situation where the local authorities have already determined that the subject is illegal, but as usual you leftists have proven time and time again that you have absolutely no problem wasting tax money in useless efforts. Allowing the state and local agencies to handle these slam dunk cases frees up the limited ICE resources to go after the bigger, more complex cases and is a win-win for everyone involved. Well, except for the illegal alien loving leftists.

Most agencies I am familiar with would not only have no problem enforcing immigration laws they would welcome it because it would speed up the process compared to the backlog that ICE has due to chronic under-staffing and under-funding by Congress and help clear jail space that would otherwise be occupied by someone held on an ICE detainer waiting on them to have time to deal with it. Even if they just did a once a week milk run to the nearest federal court for the hearings it would speed the process up and save the state and local taxpayers money in the process.

Yep, which is why the Mexican govt is freaking out about the tariffs. If the Mexicans were only concerned about Americans paying higher prices, and not what results from that, they wouldn't care about the tariffs.

Lighten up Francis, I misunderstood what you were actually saying. I have no issue with what you described in your latest reply. I thought you meant you wanted them to perform other federal duties.

But I'm glad you agree with me that congress needs to fund more manpower.

Sure...if you can find them...and then still afford them, who wouldn't.

Then you need to put pressure on your fellow leftists as they are the ones controlling the purse strings.

Not really...they've had bill after bill to address the border but can't get anything past the senate. And that's controlled by turtle. I don't know of many "leftists" opposed to border security and increasing funding. We just don't want to pay for an unnecessary wall. That being said, not opposed to a wall in general, just not this ridiculous over-priced thing trump wants...and it really has little to do with trump proposing it, so don't go there.
