I imagine Jeffries, but I refuse to watch when he's in; just to nerve racking of late.

Their starter at 87 pitches at the one out in the 5th-- two walks in a row for him here. any money on a new face on the mound next inning?

I think the Rice bullpen plan should be a complete game by the starter.

Going to be tough when our starter is at 65 pitches through 4... Bordwine will go 6 at most IMO.

I’d go Lewis out of the pen from there.

Well Marshall's new pitcher in the 5th (Sexton) hasn't helped matters. 4-1 Rice now. Bordwine needs to keep going as long as he can obviously.

We still can't hit, but we just picked up our 4th and 5th walks of the game. Runners on 1B and 2B, one out, Dunlap at the plate.

Dunlap RBI single. 02-13-banana Gneiting scores, Cruz to 2B. One out.
New pitcher for Marshall...
Edwards flied out to RF. Cruz tags up to 3B. Two outs.
Cox walked to load the bases.
Collins RBI walk. 02-13-banana That's 7 BBs and 5 hits (3 doubles) so far, but only 4 runs.
A.Cruz flied out.

Good guys take a 4-0 lead into the bottom of the fifth inning.

A BB and single put Marshall runners on 1B and 2B, one out, with the heart of their order due up. Jeffries up in the pen. One has to wonder whether Lewis is hurt, or whether Bragga is saving him to start tomorrow?

And yet another walk (#5 for Bordwine) loads the bases. On both walks this inning he had the batter 1-2 in the count. Jeffries, who has struggled mightily with his control the past 2 weeks, now on the mound.

I can't watch. Back later.

Bases loaded now, Jefferies coming in.

No reason to believe Lewis is hurt.. He was down there with Kendal and Daniel Russell.

Kendal gives up 2-rbi single on 1-2 pitch. 4-3 Owls.

He gets the next 2 outs to preserve the lead for now. Owls need to keep scoring and not get stuck on 4 runs again.

Andrew hits one to deep 3rd, but trips on the way to 1st and is out easily. Wow.

Dunlap hits one down the third baseline and then falls over on the way to 1st base.

4-3 Rice, Mid-6.

9 BBs, 5 hits (3 doubles) and only 4 runs in 6 innings...with one of those runs scoring on a WP/error and another on a bases loaded walk. Absolutely pathetic offense.

Maybe Marshall’s 4th pitcher will get the Owls offense going?

Marshall on its 4th pitcher now? Hoffman has pitched the first two games of the tournament already. Their closer (Guerrero) I guess is available for an inning or so, but he pitched 49 pitches two days ago.

4-3 in the 8th now. Jefferies at 43 pitches so he might have 1 more inning in him? I'm sure Lewis will be ready at a moment's notice. I still don't think 4 runs is going to be enough to win this game (and I said as much last night).
