Problem isn't OOC attendance, it's the attendance of the conference games. People only come out for Navy

RE: embarrassing
Hey, let's never try to schedule a big P5 team because then we won't have as good of a chance to play a P5 team ( in the NY6). /s Forest--Trees.

Gimme the Power 5 opponents during the regular season, when they count. A NY6 game is great and all, but not at the expense of perma-underwhelming regular seasons. Particularly when the biggest names you'd play in a NY6 often look at those non-playoff games as consolation prizes akin to a World Cup 3rd place game.

Non-playoff bowl season is dead in the water--it's literally only about money to administrators....but we're fans. There's only 4 unspoken-for slots in the schedule. Sacrificing that for an almost certainly anti-climactic bowl season is foolish.

Holy sh*t you guys are tiresome.

Fuente wanted it this way, Norvell apparently is okay with it. Rudd is not, but it takes years to correct long-term contracts.

How can anyone say that when if it rained, the team was doomed. White couldn't throw the ball in the rain because his hands are too small. I don't like to get on players (that's why I put this on the coach), but every time it rained, there was nothing the team could do on Offense. UCF was able to come back from 30+ pts down because they learned all they had to do force White to beat them, which was not going to happen, even with their back-up QB. Notice, UCF just loaded up the box, stopped the run, and dared White to actually read and react in the passing game. That's why you lose to Tulane in New Orleans, and Navy after having a lead. The team did not believe in White, they believed in Henderson and Pollard. Unfortunately, neither one of them played QB.

Yeah maybe the Juco quarterback who averaged a hundred yards a game passing could have led us to the promised land.

His final game saw him go 2-10 for 16 yards passing and 2 int's in a 10-9 loss.

But, yeah, Brady was the wrong guy.

Pfft.

No chit.....totally agree

Well, just when we thought you had the dumbest post of the year... your doubled down.
First, it had nothing to do with his hand size. It was all about how he was injured. You also are apparently clueless about the team, because I have heard from many members of the team especially the ones that left (who have nothing to lose) and that is NOT the case.
Tulane had nothing to do with the QB. Our OL got whipped the whole game and our DL, decimated by injuries ran out of gas late in the 3rd quarter... that is why we lost to Tulane. Not to mention that almost everybody said our team was totally flat that game. But don't forget it was a 3 point game until the last play of the 3rd quarter.
Now, if those issues persist this season, I might think every single person I have talked with is wrong and you are right... until then, I will say this is the second dumbest post, with your previous post still winning the award.

Oh lord, here come the folks with the "we need Southern Miss on the schedule."

99% of folks don't give a crap about USM and they have no more appeal than a USA or any low major school.

At least a road trip to Georgia State or USA gets you to Atlanta or the beach.

Playing at USM gets you a trip to hell on earth.

Last time I looked Lincoln Nebraska and Norman Oklahoma are not top tourist destinations. Hasn't diminished that rivalry. Something is wrong if the city is more important than the team.

I have shown in numerous threads that the USM "rivalry" has no effect on attendance and has actually drawn less that Rice, ASU, MTSU, Monroe, and other schools in the same year.

Rivalries are supposed to create an attendance bump regardless of record, weather, etc.

The USM stuff doesn't. Outside of old jorts and jersey wearing dudes, the USM "rivalry" is fake news.

Last time both were challenging for the conference title in the same conference the attendance was 47,000 and this was a week after playing a top 20 team.

Ok? 15K less than Ole Miss and 5k less than Louisville. Hell, Chattanooga had 38K that year. Plus FedEx was giving out tickets.

There is no question GSU, UL-Monroe, UTSA, So AL do not represent rivalries. The fact that we have played USM more than any other school comes closer to being a rivalry (without adding qualifications to what constitutes a rivalry) than any of this list. I think we should play USM & AR St - but I don't think we should play them H&H - only at Memphis, at least for several years to see if USM & AR St support the game by bringing fans.
