RE: 2020 ACC at G5 road games
Look you're just not going to be successful asking a bunch of people are are somewhat undersized for tight end to go play offensive line against people averaging 30-60 ibs heavier per person and that's before you get into leverage and being at a 3-6" height disadvantage as well. They were playing big time CFB in a pro spread with a service academy roster. They should have been awful and they were. I have no idea how they managed to win any games TBH, let alone three. The talent level this year should lurch substantially upward but they'll be green and without much time in the weight room. Collins however said they'd be bowling year two, so maybe he sees things we cannot right now. The reasonable timeline is probably look like they know what they're doing year 2 and actually be competitive with people and have winning record and appreciable bowl year 3.

Don't expect to beat Syracuse in the Dome...where does GTech find 6 wins?

To be fair, Georgia Tech needs to worry about beating a FCS team with the new coaching staff, before they worry about UCF based on last seasons results... 12 Sept is when we find out if CGC is another Bill Lewis or more... The fan base will not be able to support another FCS loss when you have a Coach talking about historic changes and bringing GT back to top 25 status and National Championships...While Coach Collins can certainly talk the talk, he needs to start walking the walk and coach the team up!!! Just saying!
God bless you for having to put up with Coach Capris and his swag over substance bull****.

Likely Loss
Thu, Sep 3 vs Clemson <-- Another ESPN "who's Clemson playing again LOLOLOLOL" TV special
Sat, Nov 14 vs Notre Dame
Sat, Nov 28 @Georgia
Likely Win
Sat, Sep 12 vs Gardner-Webb
Sat, Oct 17 vs Virginia
Sat, Nov 7 vs Duke
Sat, Nov 21 vs Miami
Tweeners
Sat, Oct 3 @Virginia Tech
Fri, Sep 18 vs UCF
Sat, Sep 26 @North Carolina
Sat, Oct 24 @Pittsburgh
Sat, Oct 31 @Syracuse
I think Miami is in full implosion mode until proven otherwise. I'm very bear on Cavman under Mendenhall. Duke is Duke.
In the Tweener games I have some questions: Fuente at VT with a more depleted roster than you'd think .... is he going to turn the corner or go splat this year? Who is QB for Syracuse? Do they have OL this time regardless?
The great wildcard is the trenches. GT was terrible in them last year both sides but a huge focus of transfers and recruits has been both lines. The pass defense went from atrocious to one of the best in the ACC in one season though nobody noticed outside Atlanta. If they get a line to go with the secondary look out. Based on who has transferred in and been regained off injury they should be clearly better on DL. But by how much?

He can be as goofy as Dabo if he wants so long as he hires as good as Dabo to his staff. And I doubt you'd call Marco Coleman someone lacking substance. Certainly not anywhere where he could hear you say it. Tashard Choice, Will Glover, Brent Key .... there's a lot to like about the staff even if you don't like Collins. And you have a lot of sour grapes flavoring your wine to begin with.

Still have Tommy Devito. He improved last season as the Oline improved. The Oline allowed an average of 5 sacks per game for the first 9 games to some really bad defenses and good defenses. But the last 3 games they allowed a total of 5 sacks altogether. Devito, also did not throw an INT in the last seven games. The offense improved a good deal while the defense was bad all season. This after coming back with a top 10 defense from a year earlier. Now SU has a new DC.

It's not sour grapes when everyone was laughing when he left. Similar to Addazio.

The bigger question is will they still have an undersized and not very athletic DL that allows teams to push them off the ball. That might be the cure for GT's OL woes.....the stoppable force meets the moveable object.

Brent Key had to be the worst coach in UCF history. O’Leary hired him and he was just awful, he also trashed UCF when he left.
