Go Tigers!
Just gonna leave this here.
O-Line didn’t provide enough time in the pocket, and White struggles on the move. Coxie was getting doubled and the other WRs had a tough time getting open.
That was possibly the best D we’ll face this season. White will shine once we get the offense fully gelled.
Take away the penalties (punt return and the penalties after Taylor’s TD was called back) and it’s a 28-10 victory that would’ve never been in doubt.
Last thing - White is an outstanding representative of the school and the program. I saw a closer connection with his teammates yesterday.
He’s not Lynch or Riley. He’s not gonna launch 60 yard bombs. But he might just get us 12 wins this year.
Go Tigers!
Absolutely - good post.
And - Coach Norvell said post game that Brady never had a chance to "set his feet" due to the pass rush. That, too, is correct.
I think part of the disappointment, at least mine, was the off-season hype (strength conditioning, healthy, knows the offense etc). Against OM, it looked the same as last season & similar play calling with the game still on the line - very conservative except for the 4th down chances.

I am afraid when other teams realize how he hangs back and chooses not to go when he should, many teams will blitz recklessly knowing there is little to no chance they will burned by a scrambling QB. This means fewer defenders need to be dedicated to the run and this allows for better pass coverage. Brady better be ready to run when that option is wide open this year, last year he declined far to often.
Spot on. This is my only complaint with him. He takes one of the "R"s out of the RPO. I don't know how many times he continued to hand off to the RB with the defensive LBs practically already tackling the RB. They sold out to tackling the "RB only" by halftime, yet he still refused to keep the ball every now and then to keep them honest. There were several times last year he did a GREAT job of ducking out of the pocket to avoid the sack, only to scramble around behind the LOS in the vein attempt to get a pass off on 3rd or even 4th down, only to be eventually sacked while the first down line to gain was a mere 3 yards away, and a clear open field in front of him. Maybe that was a "speed of the game" thing that will improve this year.
Our RPO is NOT a QB ruo/pass option. It is the RB runs or the QB passes.
You don't take into consideration that he was coached to play that way, not to mention that he played injured all season.
Thank you for saving me from having to explain RPO to all of these genius OCs.

After first couple games, liked the outcome vs the opponents we played but was kind of scratching my head because not exactly what I was imagining he would be. After navy was like, hmm; not really sure this guy is fast enough, at least he can sling it, let’s go Brady!! Moving on I was like come on Man U can do it. By seasons end of watching 12 games, don’t think this guy has the natural tools , arm strength, foot speed,to be the guy if we are gonna be a great team ; in the end after watching the season, losing 5 games with almost every starter returning my opinion was we need someone better to lead this team to double digit wins; the rest of the pieces are there, he is 4 years removed from high school and I don’t see him getting much better at this point. I think we need better quarterback play; even though I really like and root for him. Hopefully this answers your question.
