Sampson's name getting tossed into the mix didn't take long. Just like last off season. I don't know if Sampson is itching to move, or if he just wants more of Tilman Fertita's money.

Can't say I didn't see this coming...dude's been in Fayetteville for what, 7 or 8 years, and hasn't done much.

With Hog football still rebuilding and predicted to suck again, it's gonna be major despondency up here in Northwest Arkansas this fall. Kelvin Sampson is already being mentioned for the Arky job, but even if he takes it, he doesn't have much time to get his roster set for next season.

Arkansas Athletic Director Hunter Yurachek was hired away from Houston in December of 2017.

It's not really any worse than say Auburn or Baylor or Texas Tech or Virginia Tech or West Virginia.

The right coach is going to get it done just about anywhere. There aren't many true blue blood jobs that are going to open any time soon and everyone in the power 5 is flush with cash right now.

There also aren't that many good coaches and a lot of administrations are unable to attract or even identify the right people to hire.

So yeah, they can. But this hire isn't any more likely to be that guy than the last how ever many coaches it's been.

Hogville website will be some good reading this evening. The idiots who wear plastic pigs on their heads never disappoint during a coaching search!

But is Arkansas really a better job than Houston still? Houston just re-did their arena. Money probably pretty close to equal. Been a long time since anybody won at Arkansas.

Have you noticed the pattern:

Coached at Oklahoma
Coached at Indiana
Coaches Houston
Considered at UNLV
Considered at Alabama
Considered at Arkansas

Maybe red is his favorite color.

Nolan was 90% crazy, but he was right about the difficulty in winning at Arkansas.

23 years since a Sweet 16. And we used to worry about them. They are about as irrelevant as they come currently. I really thought Anderson was at least a partial answer to their woes. I was wrong.

And it's not like the SEC was very good most of those years.

Bud Walton Arena used to be a pretty intimidating place to play, loud as hell when it was full.

He was 2 of the 3 wins and they were a bunch of freshmen and sophomores this year.

Not a good look to attack your own schools fan base.

Yep. A high school coach I might have sympathy for. College coaches makes so much coin. They know the drill, win or get fired. That's how Anderson got the Arkansas gig in the first place.

Not good at all - especially for future recruits. What does Khalil tell current and/or future recruits? 'Don't come here, the fans are delusional'?

I knew Stan Heath was a reach, but Heath was a 'convenience' hire, so to speak. Pelphrey was a bust, but I thought Anderson was their best chance and he had a legit record.

I think Chris Beard has to be on the radar since he was a stud at UALR and he is tearing it up at Texas Tech.

we should offer them a 1 for 2 basketball if they complete the football contract. If not flock 'em!
