Outside of the part where he said Cal was all about getting one and done talent. Cal only had 3 OAD players in 9 years....Rose, Tyreke and Wagner.

(Maybe Shawne Williams was OAD, can't remember. Did he play one or 2?)

Shawne was one and done. Played on our first of 3 straight E8 teams in 2006 with Dwash when we lost to UCLA

That was the most boring game. We lost 50-45 playing right into the hands of Ben Howland's style of half-court basketball.

Don’t forget their coach doesn’t really really even want to be there haha

Yeah, admitted he wanted and thought he had the UCLA job. Classic Barnes.
He got greedy

Textbook example of how not to gamble or negotiate a deal by overplaying your hand.

Also, how not being a man of your word in business after he already reached a verbal agreement with UCLA is detested and backfires, lol.

Plus he had 3 none and does in Perkins, Stoudimire and the kid from here, I can't remember his name.

Rick Barnes and UT's approach to outrecruiting Penny:

They're headed deep into UT's Smoky
Mountains into Moonshine territory for inbreds that are citizens that will support their program.

I promise I'll stop after basketball recruiting season. I can't get over these hilarious Luther Ogle videos.

Can't remember what the OAD was like during Dejuan Wagner's time.

Dejuan Wagner very rarely showed up to class. I'll never forget the Professor asking him what his name was after he meandered in 15 minutes late (males in class all just kinda we looked at each other and smirked).

DeAngelo was the polar opposite academic student. I had several classes we shared while he was there. While he might not have attended every class due to athletic reasons, he was engaged and whispering me inquisitive questions in class. DeAngelo is the man.

DeAngelo Williams was the embodiment of a student-athlete. The Blue Bloods are the least of all to comprehend that. They need to pound sand overnight and rough up the sensitive parts before they are relevant in any Penny discussion ever again.

Sean Banks left during his sophomore year. I believe Arthur Barclay beat that ass in the locker room and he was gone shortly after that.

RE: UT feeling the heat from the Tigers class
Hacky article.

Memphis lost many of its top players from last year too.

The 2010 class did not deliver a sweet 16 but was not a TOTAL bust. Certainly was disappointing overall but had its moments.

Unless TOTAL bust is defined as four consecutive NCAA tourneys with a few tourney wins etc...

Not looking for our local Memphis haters to bash our own past the idea the Joe Jackson class was a total bust is ludicrous.

And he fails to mention how badly Barnes wanted out.

Fan boy article.

They do have a solid class next year and should be good. Not as good as their best team ever last year, sweet 16, but good and playing a young of very talented team at home they can certainly pull off an upset.

Pretty smart of a third stringer to sucker punch the freshman of the year.

Making it to the sweet 16 is making it out of the first weekend but other points right on the mark!

You're right. I got carried away with my UT disdain.

One can never get carried away with disdain for the viles.
