CAA full members--like the 5 non-fb schools in the league could really vote to sanction JMU or Delaware if they decided to move up
What FBS teams would be willing to play Stony Brook?

When Monmouth moved from the NEC to the non-Football MAAC, did they move Football to the Big South voluntarily, or did the NEC tell them they can't leave for most sports and stay for Football?

It would give Big 10 more options for the western schools to play them as an FBS opponent instead of them being an FCS. I do think you could do a rivalry game every year between Minnesota and NDSU. NDSU is termed a stronger opponent than say the MAC schools like Kent State, Ball State and Eastern Michigan. NDSU already had wins against Minnesota.

MVFC, CAA and Big South schools and a couple of Big Sky schools do have schools who are football only. I do think the private basketball schools in the CAA would rather not have their conference sponsor football. That is why football schools like Albany and Stony Brook being blocked. I think all the football schools would want to be in a conference where all the members have football.

Why would the Big Ten vote for NDSU and SDSU to move up? They don't need to play more "western" schools and it would cost more for an FBS buy game than an FCS buy game. The Big Ten is again allowing members to schedule FCS schools. Minnesota has rivals, and if they need more, it makes much more sense to go for a southern rival than western. If they wanted to play a western G5 school, they could go for Wyoming, Boise State, or even Colorado State. There is literally no upside for the Big Ten to vote for NDSU and SDSU up to FBS if it were even possible.

Be worth the money since those 2 Dakota schools that have die hard fans that do travel. The ideal is too sell tickets to get butts in the seats. No disrespect to Colorado State and Wyoming fans do not travel well. That is the upside having those two up in FBS.

They could just continue giving out waivers.
