A very embarrassing way to end the season. We will not have to worry about the availability of Freedom Hall now. They took care of that problem.

I was unable to go. But I was was not upset as the CIT doesnt really excite me all that much.
If they decide to go I want them to win.

Sounds like they made a comeback after being down.
What happened in the last few minutes ?

Definitely not how we wanted to the end year. Unfortunate circumstances aside, I'd like to give the starters and subs credit for coming back in the second half and making it competitive. We shall be back

RE: Official Game Thread: CIT vs Green Bay
The good news is that the attendance should have been well more than was needed to break even on hosting the game. I also enjoyed seeing Benard and Tiller play.

I actually think that our ultra small lineup with Tiller at the 5 was a smart move. When Harrison and N'Guessan was in the game, the guards didn't trust either of them (with reason), making our offense predictable. We hit 13 threes, but had to take 33 attempts. As a side note, if anyone paid attention to N'Guessan's attitude tonight, that is exactly what I was talking about after the last game. He didn't play well and then openly argued with the coaching staff when he was replaced. I just don't see his value.

The coaching staff must improve the team's defensive play next season. After the game, Shay mentioned that in the first half there wasn't one thing they did that was in the game plan. Forbes has said similar things during the season, leading me to believe that this group of players has yet to buy in on the defensive end. That simply has to happen for us to be special next year.

Nothing positive with the way we ended the season. I hope Coach revs up his recruiting machine. We can do better than a few of our players performed this year. Just embarrassing.

Interesting of all the subs getting in that game, I didn't see Carlos Curtis out there. Was he even on the bench? If not, my guess is he's transferring.

I also don't take a lot out of the performance tonight. 3 of our 5 starters were out. We were a different team. But with that said, we should've seen Curtis if he were still planning to be here next year. That part makes me a little worried.

I didn't see this game, but I've seen enough of N'Guesuen to see a poor attitude that doesn't fit our program. He may have talent, but that kind of thing kills a team.

He either acts better or I'd as soon not have him around next year.

That's about as bitter a feeling as I can remember to end the season on. The Swader foul call ending was more painful, and ultimately more damaging, but this one is just........sour all the way around. A "good" season, but FAR less than the capabilities would have suggested.

Unless he's still under the mono fog (which I guess is *possible*), then yeah, he's gone, as I've been saying for 2 months. The fact that they mentioned Good, Rodriguez, and Armus being out, but not him is further evidence. He and Forbes may well have had "the talk" way back months ago, altho he's seemed engaged on the bench. And as always, sure hope I'm wrong.

RE: Official Game Thread: CIT vs Green Bay
We were without a true leader, or veteran leadership, all year. In retrospect, as some mentioned, 10 new guys was just too many. Who was our leader? Bo? No. Armus? No.
Tisdale, Good, Rodriguez, or even Williamson, all new on the court this year, would be about as close as we could come to one, and I didn't see any of them wear that mantle this year like we've had since Wadood and Fields - whether good year or not. I think that was a bigger factor than even I suspected, and I brought it up several times.

Going 1-5 vs. the top 3 arises, in part, from that lack. Admittedly, the other 3 just being very good this year was a significant factor, too - but as I think we virtually all agree, the talent differential wasn't great - at all. The ability to utilize that talent maximally - beyond what a coach can instill - was missing. As I put it earlier...........the team chemistry was good, but it just wasn't great. For those other 3 it certainly was that.

Some of tonight's ineffectiveness was due to an unfamiliar line-up and all that follows therefrom. Surely the first half of the first half was quite a bit of that factor. But it didn't (fully) cause the almost total lack of D. That was absolutely embarrassing. I mean truly embarrassing. At whatever point in the future Forbes makes time to watch this game, it'll be a good thing he has no hair, or he'd pull it all out.
I believe before the game, one of the announcers said something like over the last 10 games, teams were shooting 47% from 3 against us, if I heard correctly. Wow. And is showed.

RE: Official Game Thread: CIT vs Green Bay
1. The loss of head coach and two starters was just too much.
2. Even though we scored 94, the offense just looked so out of sync all night.
3. Defense was definitely out of sync. I'm thinking Green Bay got 10-12 pts off of layups due to a missed switch or rotation; the player wasn't covered or was covered way late.
4. In spite of the 3-pt percentage 1st half, Green Bay had very few wide-open looks. I didn't think the 3-pt defense was as bad as the percentage would indicate.
5. I really thought Lucas could feast offensively, either via points or assists. I don't know if the lack of assists was due to a lack of desire to pass out of the double or triple team or teammates not being in the right spot to receive the pass. Got give him credit for making his FTs though.
6. I know the default offensively nowadays is for a big to screen out front; it looked to me like the screener just brought another defender with him and took away the opportunity for a drive. In particular, I thought Tray could've driven against his guy, but the screener and defender were in the way.
7. 3-pt shooting is an improvement opportunity. There were 2 or 3 chances to extend our lead with very makeable 3s that we just didn't hit.
8. I liked the energy that Tre Tiller displayed. He didn't get to play much this season but seemed to jump in this game.
9. Tisdale had some nice defensive performances.
10. You could call Kevon the MVP. His shooting kept us within reach in the first half. Not sure we have a chance in the second half without him in the first.

Missing 3 starters aside, scoring 94 should win you most games. Hitting 15-18 FTs was nice change but the olé defense ultimately doomed Bucs. Lucas is nothing more than a distraction and needs to go. There’s a reason OSU let him go.

Doesn't seem possible from Monday morning (when Coach was on WXSM) to Wednesday afternoon that two key players wouldn't be able to go(?). It certainly cast a lot of gloom around where I was sitting.
