I didn't even notice the SEC Championship game was on Sunday. That's how little I care about that league. Sarcasm went right over my head.

Should the AAC take note and consider changing the format to have their Championship on Saturday as opposed to Sunday? The old BE Championship was Saturday night. The ACC made the change from Sunday to Saturday in 2015. I know the B1G and SEC are still on Sunday, but I think it would serve the AAC better to have their Champion slotted earlier than later. Just my .2 cents.

And that's exactly what the AAC would get in TV revenue for their title game - .2cents - for moving it to Saturday.

It's on Sunday because as a P7 conference in basketball (as defined by CBS yesterday) we have to whore ourselves out to get as much revenue as possible even though it makes the game worthless to the Selection Committee.

GREAT POINT. You are exactly right. Which explains why the Big 10 and SEC, the two most profitable conferences, both refuse to play their conference championships on Sunday.

I think the Big Ten Championship game was on at the same time as the AAC Championship.

You don't say.... and the SEC?

Are you really that naïve to the business of sports? You might have brackets correct but big swing and miss on athletic TV revenue streams. OF COURSE the Big Ten and SEC can have their championships on Sunday, or Tuesday, or on Leap Day - advertisers will pay big bucks because those blue blood conferences will draw numbers no matter when played. And it doesn't hurt them because 95% of the time both teams in the final are already in. In the SEC, the big game was the semi-final. The final was a yawn.

The AAC will have their championship whenever the networks say they will have it. Just like every other mid-major. Or be banished off to the hidden gem of some small cable outlet right after the Texas Southern game.

Just to show that you can never be happy depending on what your expectations are...a guy I work with is a UNC alum and he looked and acted like someone stole his wife on Monday because Carolina is in the same region with Kentucky and Kansas. He was moanin' that UNC would have to face Kansas in the S16 in Kansas City. Roy Williams has had trouble beating Kansas since Roy's "The Decision" to take his talents to Chapel Hill. I was thinking, shat, I just want to get past Iowa and our fanbase would do all kinds of cray cray if we got out of the first weekend...07-coffee3

Me too. I guess the fact Roy is 0-3 vs. Kansas and the game would be played in Kansas City (de facto home game) it's causing poo poo pants. Probably still pissed they lost to Duke...
