If UC wins Friday Im interested in making it up to Columbus for the game Sunday. What is the beat strategy for buying tickets on that late of notice? Stubhub or scalping?

I like how you think. Maybe we can benefit from a lower seed taking out a higher seed.

I thought the same as he was on that team that is not in the 1992 F4.

The top cheater should not be doing any college games!

We know what Jarron can do but the way Brooksy and Scott have been playing of late gives me more hope than I did a few months back. Both of these dudes are playing with a lot of confidence right now.

Not seen Iowa play. Will Brooks/Scott be able to hurt them inside or no?

Big difference between Mick and Higgins era teams is right here, Cats finish 13 in the RPI and get a 7 seed. Ever changing metrics and conference realignment has basically doomed our tournament chances to another underdog role. 20 years ago we have been a 4 seed with our current resume.

Basically UC not only needs to win they need to do so in way to get the efficiency numbers up. Last season’s finish is all the more painful because we had a legit top ten team. UC has a five seed resume with an 8 or 9 seed level efficiency numbers. Modern committees continue to use mixed metrics instead of going down the RPI line like they did 20 years ago.

I have no idea how this works, but the AAC hasn’t had a representative on the selection committee in the six years it’s been in existence. That needs to change.

Here is a link to a 1-68 ranking of every NCAA tourney team.

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2825...al#slide26

They have UC in at #28.

Iowa is #43
Record: 22-11, 10-10 in Big Ten

How They Got Here: Aside from a home win over Iowa State in December and a home win over Michigan on Feb. 1, Iowa didn't do much this season. But the Hawkeyes were in great shape for a top six seed until they crashed and burned at the finish line, losing six of their final eight games—including a dreadful 14-point home loss to Rutgers.

Reason to Believe: Iowa's offense has been inconsistent and noticeably absent for almost two months, but the Hawkeyes can put up points in bunches. They are 18-2 when scoring at least 73 points, and with four solid three-point shooters on the roster, you have to wonder why they don't get to that total more often.

Reason to Worry: This is nothing new in the past three years, but Iowa's defense is somewhere between a train wreck and a dumpster fire. And three of the Hawkeyes' six worst defensive performances came in the final two weeks of the regular season—against teams that aren't even that good on offense.

March Madness Ceiling: One month ago, you probably could've talked me into Iowa as an Elite Eight candidate. But now, even one win is pushing it. The same thing happened in 2016, albeit with an entirely different roster. The Hawkeyes looked great until mid-February and then lost six of their final eight before Selection Sunday to limp into the tournament. They barely won the opener in overtime before getting smashed by a quality opponent in the second round. A repeat of that wouldn't surprise anyone.

If you buy in person from a scalper do this:

1. Insist on taking a picture of guy holding up the tickets
2. Insist on picture of his DL

If he refuses walk away. Lots of bad or stolen tickets when big money involved.

What are ticket prices.. I may have cleared my schedule enough to go on Friday..

Or i could hope they win and just try to go on Sunday instead.

Either way it'd be nice to be off work Friday afternoon to see the game

Did anyone confirm tipoff time as 12:15?

Friday game is definitely at 12:15. My total ticket cost for a lower level ticket including secondary market fees was $130.

Seems all the tickets are well into three digits apiece at this time.

RE: NCAA Tournament Selection Sunday Thread
The only pause for concern vs Iowa is: "...and with four solid three-point shooters on the roster".

Mick believes in picking your poison. He just said the other day, he learned real fast in the Big East, if you run around trying to defend both the three pointer and the layup you give up both. Hence he made up his mind to defend the layup at all cost. Which also why our 3pt defense is usually the lone weak link in our defensive chain.

So question: Iowa has four three point shooters....does Mick defend the three at the cost of the layup or does he stick with defending the layup? You already know based on his philosophy, he isn't going to do both.

Thanks. I'm used to having expensive concert tickets now but thats due to the recording industry changes... I last bought a tourney ticket for Huggins last game in Indy when they played in the tourney vs UK. Feel like it was about half this cost.

Of course I live in COlumbus now so the travel cost will be minimal.
May just wait and hope they win the first game and see about Sunday.
