I am so very happy and excited about this win. This is likely the best night of each of our players lives (thus far). They played excellently as a team, and deserve every accolade they earned. Xavier has become a star for us over the course of this tournament.

I feel so happy for Coach Jones and his wife Danielle, such a load they have had to bear for so long, and this has got to feel like a weight has lifted from at least this facet of their lives. What a great job Jeff Jones did tonight, and has been doing for us for years. He and his staff, and the players have all brought the Monarchs (OUR Monarchs) from a flaming pile of refuse to the regular season and Conference Championships.

THE MONARCHS ARE GOING DANCING!!!!!

Both Elbert and Lu did yeoman's work in the trenches today defending Bassey. Once again it showed the importance of having some quality size in the post. Anything less than we had and Bassey would have dominated us inside and WKU likely wins.

Another big thing that someone else has mentioned is our free throw shooting in this game as well as yesterday. The last two games ODU has gone 20 of 21 combined from the line. Who would ever have seen that happening in such a high stress situation as the conference tournament?

Absolutely agree with all of this. What a great team and a great win. This team has the heart of a champion. All of our big guys battled. Even Dickens fought hard against Bassey. He and Kalu are going to be a load in the future.... and hopefully next week.
