I should have put /s on my post. I was half thinking of the Marshal fans comments on the main board about it. I did for a split second tho think oh shoot don't get a T, that would be terrible.

Somethings up with BJ and its probably an injury. Its doesn't make sense to be this far off for this long. It's nothing to do with checking out, he just cannot find his stroke right now.

The defense on the last play was more toward being too scared to foul that not trying. There were 3 seconds left and usually, that is only a couple dribbles, but they were thrown off by Bracey being able to get the ball at halfcourt (saving a couple seconds) and then by how quickly he got from halfcourt to the 3 point line. THey have to do a better job making sure he gets the ball going away from the basket.

Luckily, for as good of a player Bracey is, he cant shoot.

I am actually relieved to know it was Carver because I know it is not a problem. He is a great teammate.

Ditto. And ultimately it doesn't matter. Everyone reacts to a huge moment like that differently. Some people stand there in silence and take it in for a minute. Others react outward.

Somehow X is getting little credit. Looks to me like he tips the miss to Kalu. Without that, we lose.

yes, X kept it alive for Zip

when he gets into the lane I wish he'd pull up for the J rather than try to jam it in over 3 guys. believe he did that 2x last night, passing up wide-open j's

This. I get that he's being aggressive, but it is out of control aggressive and does not generate much in the way of points.

According to his teammates his nickname is Lu. Anyway that is what they call him. I'm guessing that is short for Kalu.

He brought a lot of energy and was definitely the best big man we played today. Also hit some very key free throws in the last couple of minutes.

As several have already commented on here....the defense we played on that last Tech possession was the kind that usually results in a last shot win for the team with the ball. Can't believe that is the best Jones could come up with after the timeout.

Have to play much better tomorrow if they want to make it to the NCAA Tourney instead of the NIT.

Hey B Ball, the players can call him Lu all they want! But when Ezikpe comes in the game he ain’t adding Lu, he’s adding ZIP baby. We are a better, more energetic team when he enters. Go Zip Go! Hey, I used to be called the thrill and that ain’t my name either!

Mac it sounds like you are rooting for Akron when you say that. Everybody on their team is a "Zip".

Yeah, Zip doesn't work for me as a nickname. Especially since it's ignoring the K in his surname. It should be Zik not Zip.

This. I get that he's being aggressive, but it is out of control aggressive and does not generate much in the way of points.

The best players in the game today tend to know when to pull up and when to attack based upon what the defense is giving them. Too many players have a tendency to play out of control too often. A guy like Frank Hassell seemed to always take his time and probe the defense before making his move unless he knew he had a quick open move available. Kids also often panic when they stop their dribble and have to pass the ball. They get in too much of a hurry and make a wild pass instead of taking the extra second or so to allow their teammate to get open for the pass. Wade did that in the game last night for a turnover.

If we want to use a nickname, why not use the one that his teammates use? "Lu"

Caver is such a stud. People are so ridiculously hard on him, but those are the people that have no clue how much he actually has to do for this team. Did anyone listen to his interview on Stadium after the game? The dude is a coach on the floor, and is the most important player to any team in this entire conference. He said "they were getting into their offense too easily, so I decided that I would pressure the ball and keep them from doing what they wanted early in their offense". Anyone think we have another person on our team that would do this themselves?

Caver should be the Player of the Year....END OF STORY.

It's not fair to say BJ seems checked out. He is playing as hard as ever. His shot has not been falling. He is giving it his best. Teams are making sure they are not fouling him and sending him to the line and they are double and triple teaming him when he gets the ball in the lane or around the foul line. They are two of his bread and butter plays he relys on. Hopefully his outside shot starts falling and that may open him up more to work around the foul line.
As for the open look LT got, give them some credit for drawing up a good play in the huddle. Earlier in the year Jones drew up a great play for us in a last second shot against Marshall. The shot didn't fall by X but it was a great play design.

Maybe the fans can yell “Looooooo!!!” Just like in the NFL for Darrell “Moose” Johnson. (Who I hated bc he was a cowboy)
