Petey - start the legitimate thread and set matters straight my friend. Can’t believe someone would overstep. They need to delete that bastard thread and respect the new streak.

Just finished watching 2nd half. I knew we won and still tough to watch all the ugly stuff we did. Significant credit for finding a way to win. As lifelong fan, it would be so much fun to see really good basketball for prolonged stretch instead of what we seem to do all the time. Will continue to hope for the best. Go Monarchs. Hope we are all happy around 4 tomorrow afternoon.

PS, that banked 3 at buzzer around 4 minutes left mark. Geesh! AND holy hell, what the heck was that last play? Way lucky they didn't make that one too.

He brought a lot of energy and was definitely the best big man we played today. Also hit some very key free throws in the last couple of minutes.

As several have already commented on here....the defense we played on that last Tech possession was the kind that usually results in a last shot win for the team with the ball. Can't believe that is the best Jones could come up with after the timeout.

Have to play much better tomorrow if they want to make it to the NCAA Tourney instead of the NIT.

So about our recent funk. Just watched the replay of Cavers amazing last shot. After it goes in the bench is jumping,standing,clapping and congratulating Caver etc. One player showed seems to show no emotion and just kept his seat. Could not make out who that was. Could be very telling.

I wouldn't read into it at all. The player you're talking about is Carver. Watch it again, he doesn't stand up but he does a little fist pump. Was likely just tired.

Mac, don't forget, the game was not over at that point. Celebrating was natural but there was still some ball ball to play.

I know what you meant but I felt the game was far from over because we picked up our defense and you could feel the momentum changing when Caver started driving the ball and we started getting out in transition.

If you watch this one, you can clearly see it's Carver. And he does do a small fist pump.

Just a couple of thoughts.

1. What an amazing win. Just unbelievable, but it's a dubya, and we move on.

2. Taking it one game at a time, and looking for some revenge with UAB. Don't care how we win it -- just win, Baby!

3. Ezikpe! You can call him Zip, and you can call him Lu, but from now on he's the Big EZ to me!

4. OMG, Caver. That shot will go down in Monarch history -- never to be forgoten.

5. Does anybody know what is really going on with BJ? Something's just not right. What ever is up, here's hoping he gets it straightened out soon.

6. We have got to fix the tournament. It's just not right to play these games in front of an empty venue.

Looks like an 11, Harris? Probably being disciplined and staying seated till the end of the game. =] haha I was worried for a second we would get called for a T, but that worry was fleeting. That was an insane ending.

I really hate saying this type of thing, but BJ seems completely checked out. How about the last defensive possession? Can anybody tell me what in the hell he was doing? The 10 rebounds kinda deflates my argument, but damn he looks completely lost.

Caver is such a stud. People are so ridiculously hard on him, but those are the people that have no clue how much he actually has to do for this team. Did anyone listen to his interview on Stadium after the game? The dude is a coach on the floor, and is the most important player to any team in this entire conference. He said "they were getting into their offense too easily, so I decided that I would pressure the ball and keep them from doing what they wanted early in their offense". Anyone think we have another person on our team that would do this themselves?

Caver should be the Player of the Year....END OF STORY.

Guys, lets not pay too much attention to how people celebrate, it means nothing. FWIW, Carver doesn't show ton of emotion after the shot, but after the win, he runs on to the floor and celebrates like crazy. People have different personalities.

Somethings up with BJ and its probably an injury. Its doesn't make sense to be this far off for this long. It's nothing to do with checking out, he just cannot find his stroke right now.

The defense on the last play was more toward being too scared to foul that not trying. There were 3 seconds left and usually, that is only a couple dribbles, but they were thrown off by Bracey being able to get the ball at halfcourt (saving a couple seconds) and then by how quickly he got from halfcourt to the 3 point line. THey have to do a better job making sure he gets the ball going away from the basket.

Luckily, for as good of a player Bracey is, he cant shoot.

I caught that in the interview as well. Was good to hear. I'm kind of hard on him but I have VERY high expectations for him. He's a stud. And when he falls back down to average for moments I think, like many on here, it is not so much out of coming down on him but we expect better. But, dudes a stud and the captain of the team.

As to BJ the law of averages better smooth back out in a few hours. We need more scoring from him against a good UAB team. One good thing is I wonder if because we got 9 and 8 from our traditional non-scorers and X looked like he wanted to take over the game at the end there other coaches will shy back away from the all out double on BJ whenever he gets the ball? Might make things more comfortable for BJ again? #Glasshalffull
