The unemployment rate 2 years into Obama's Presidency was 10%... and the labor participation rate was still declining (meaning unemployment was even higher than that) plus wages were declining (net)
The LPR has been steady, the rate is 4% or less (what many previously argued was technically full employment) AND wages are rising (not fast, but still, not declining)

If you want to pretend to be stupid and claim that the context of those situations doesn't matter, then you aren't worth engaging in remotely intellectual conversation

Nobody on here is praising 20k jobs gains... It's a weak number... but I didn't see any of you praising Trump when it was over 300 the previous month.

Correct. It points to a problem. Under Obama, the issue was a lack of real jobs, especially construction and manufacturing.

Now, the problem isnt a lack of jobs. There are MILLIONS of open job reqs. The problem is a lack of skilled labor for the good jobs that are now open.

Under Obama, we lacked jobs for workers. Under Trump, we are lacking workers for jobs.

And before the left jump in here and misinterpret that, no, thats also not Trumps fault. Its the lefts fault for pimping student loans for 4-year bullsh*t college degrees, to where we dont have enough skilled labor for the real labor market.

As for the claim, it's absolutely true that Democrats have made it easier for people under 24 to NOT be part of the labor force. The whole 'stay on your parent's insurance' matters to individuals, but on an aggregate bases it makes no financial difference whose policy those people are on, and it hurts exactly as many families as it helps. The better source is the BLS, but you're correct that it's not higher than it's been in a while. We've been essentially flat since 2013 (within a 0.3 range) since 2013, but of course that is after a significant fall 2008-2013... but it actually peaked in 2000.


The fallacy in your comment of course is that Obama was touting gains from 2008-2013, ignoring the falling labor participation rate. The rate isn't impacting these numbers in any meaningful way, so the comment is ridiculous

Children under 24 are often in school or in low wage jobs and simply believe they do not need to worry about paying for healthcare insurance and comprised a significant number of the unisured’s.

What keeps most 16-24’s out of the labor pool, however, is the fact many seniors are staying in the labor market longer and retirees are often supplementing their SS with a part-time job a teen might otherwise fill... and this trend precedes implementation of the ACA by almost a decade.

I just don't pay attention to any of those guys, so I was aware that there were some false flag accusations about Sandy Hook, but I wouldn't have a clue where they came from. Pretty much the same for Infowars, I know they exist because I've seen the word on here, but that's about it. Alex Jones means nothing to me, so I would not connect either one to Alex Jones. As I said, I know he's a he, but that's about it.

I recall a thread on here about the sandy hook massacre and someone claiming a hoax, but as I recall, they were calling the reaction a hoax/staged, not the event. I don't know if that was true or not, nor do I remember remotely where the claim came from... my ONLY response was in reading the linked article and noting how the thrust of the thread was claiming they said the event was a hoax... when the article said the reaction was staged. That's what I recall and has nothing to do with the veracity of the claim about the hoax, nor the person/group/whatever who was making the claim of a hoax.

There was a lot of that going on at the time, and to a great degree, still is. I've made the same comment about a lot of these fact checkers.

I read every article with a bit of skepticism and decide for myself if the author is making a reasonable inference or point or not.

What I find amusing is all of the people claiming something about someone's leanings based on whom they think they read... who then demonstrate that this is ABSOLUTELY true about themselves.
