Gneiting beats out an infield single into the 1B-2B gap, as the Baylor pitcher was slow to get to first base.

Comeaux pulls a ball nearly in the dirt to the 3rd baseman, who tosses to 2nd base for an easy force-out to end the inning.

5-0, Rice, heading to B4.

Kravetz finally gives up a hit (triple), who then comes in on a SF. Great start by Evan.

B4: Leadoff triple to deep right-center ... just short of a home run. Baylor's first hit.

Next pitch is a sac fly to deep RF.

5-1, Rice ... one out.

Edwards backs up DiCaprio to snag a high-high-high foul ball halfway between first base and the stands. (Can't blame that one on the wind.) Two outs.

Walk ... then an 0-1 single hit sharply through the box. Two on.

Kravetz bounces a pitch ... Collins blocks it ... runner at second starts for 3rd, but thinks better of it. Collins short-hops his throw to 2nd, which Edwards caught in front of the bag. Perfect throw might have picked him off. But, whew! No harm done with all those bouncing baseballs.

Another triple...two more runs in. Dunlap confused by the odd outfield wall configuration in left. Could have caught it if he knew he had more room behind him in that odd corner. Evan strands him at third.

Gonna have to outslug them. Need at least another five runs.

Another triple! Dunlap leaps to try to catch the high fly just to the right of the Crawford boxes. He had more room than he thought, though. It sailed over his glove. He could have easily caught it if he'd realized that he was not up against the Crawford wall. Fortunately, Beulaurier backed him up, otherwise it would have been an inside-the-park homer!

First pitch foul ball off 3rd base side ends the inning. Whew.

T5:

Collins wiffs on am 0-2 cricket ball that bounces in front of the plate.

Dunlap walks on 4 pitches!

DiCaprio works hard to get the count to 2-2, then looks at strike 3 down the middle. Sigh.

0-1 pitch to Duluc is way outside, bounces away from the catcher. Dunlap to 2nd.

Duluc holds up on 2 pitches in the dirt to run the count to 3-2. Then a high foul into the right-field stands. The next pitch is high and outside, but Duluc can't check his swing. Sigh.

59 pitches for Baylor's 2nd pitcher.

CH loses to UCF... Won’t be a one seed now, thank God.

Two good grounder grabs and throws from Comeaux and Edwards get the first two outs. Then Kravetz Ks the 3rd Bear for a 1-2-3 innning.

New pitcher in for Baylor. Another lefty! The third of the day for Baylor.

1-2-3 for Rice in T6 isn't good enough. Baylor's about to start scoring.

Kravetz had some difficulty in the 5th but he has been very effective this game! Hope he can get to the 8th inning and keep these bears limited to only 3 runs.

T6: After two quick outs, Trei looks at two low pitches ... then flails at a third one. And watches good pitches called strikes on the outside corner and down the middle at the knees. Sigh.
