Not sure how long Evan will go. Gives up a loud double to start the bottom of the 6th

Another great play by Beaulaurier in CF! And just prior to that Evan struck out Baylor's hottest hitter--again!

B6:

Leadoff double down the LF line.

Kravetz Ks the Baylor slugger (Wendzel, batting .529 coming into the game, but now 0-3 today).

DEEEP fly to CF. Beaulaurier turns to his left and races back ... catching it over his shoulder. (Not quite as deep or spectacular as his Willie Mays catch yesterday, but still very nice!) Runner has to hustle back to 2nd.

1-2 pitch outside ... and runner swipes 3rd! No throw. Gutsy play there!

After a foul, Kratetz gets a strike 3 wiff. Yes!!!

5-3, Rice ... after 6.

Doubt we see Moss given that he pitched two yesterday.

T7:

Sharp 1-out single up the middle by Comeaux.

Collins called out on a pitch that appeared to be inside.

Dunlap fooled by 2-1 off-speed pitch. Then check-swings an inside pitch ... and it hit him .. "right on the tip of his elbow. That's going to leave a mark."

Two on, two out.

DiCaprio hits a routine grounder to SS on 0-1 pitch. 6-4 forceout. Sigh.

5-3, Rice ... heading to B7.

If Collins and DiCaprio ever start hitting, this team could be decent.

Evan back out to start 7th.

Evan departs with 98 pitches after giving up a 2 out double. K’d the 1st two hitters.
Heck of an effort by the big guy against a big hitting team. Only 5 hits allowed.

Kendall in to pitch.

B7:

After 2 Ks -- one "a generous strike ... nearly in the opposite batter's box ... The strike zone is getting bigger as the game progresses." -- Bissonette doubles off the Crawford Box scoreboard ... bouncing away from DiCaprio.

Coach Bragga comes out to change pitchers. Kendal (one-l) Jefferies in.

0-1 comebacker ends the threat. Nice!!

5-3, Rice ... after 7.

Duluc looks at two balls and a strike ... then a high ball ... and a ball low, nearly in the dirt. Walk!! Yay!!

Another base running gaffe but at least we added an insurance run. 3 run lead with 6 outs to get.

T8, cont'd:

Edwards -- Ball, way outside. Call strike, down the middle (showed bunt, but pulled it back). Slider sweeps outside. Duluc running ... Trei chops the ball to 3B ... only play is to 1st. 5-3 ... Duluc to 2nd base. "That worked just like a bunt."

Beaulaurier -- Check-swing called strike on an outside pitch. Bragga calls Beau over for a chat. Slider-low. Outside pitch fouled off to the right. Slider-low ... good take. 2-2 count. Slider "one of the best ones Boyd has thrown" ... called strike (high-outside corner) ... very good pitch.

Trei Cruz -- intentionally walked.

Gneiting -- Outside-ball. Line shot to the base of the Crawford Boxes! One run scores ... and Trei tries to make it two ... but is out by a long shot. Not close at all. Did he run through a stop sign ... or is this on Janish?

6-3, Rice ... heading to B8.

No gaffe. They were sending him all the way. 2 perfect throws by Baylor nailed him.

Thanks for the assessment. Glad it took perfection to save the run.
