The problem with the birth rate is that it's a negative feedback loop. (Note: OAC's socialist policies fail in a low birthrate society.)

Millennials are broke. They don't have kids. This slices at the tax base and causes govt services to decline. This creates a weaker environment where it makes even less sense to have kids. This is all happening in a world where having kids can cast a young employee in a bad light in certain industries.

The modern concept of "two income households" was one of the dumbest ideas EVER. One parent needs to play housemaker. Social structure is our weak point, not the environment.

Millenials are broke because they all have to go to school to even work at Walmart these days.... The burden of education expenses is outrageous. The saddest thing is that only about 20% of the bill is for the actual education part, the rest is fees to pay for the "experience".

I was at Boston University a couple weeks back and I am looking at a 4 story workout facility packed to the gills with state of the are equipment..... seriously WTF.... People wonder why "school" costs so much.... here is just one simple example.

My dad was the boss of the Custodians at Norman High School. The Norman school board changed to a private firm to clean their schools. My dad would be hired by the private company, but he would have a pay cut, not a head custodian job, and all janitors are required to get a 4 year college degree. You do not need a F*****g college degree to clean up after a bunch of teenagers. That is why my dad got a job here in Arkansas as a head custodian at an elementary school in Russellville, and they did not require you to have a college degree.

Most of our society is over credentialed. We agree here.

They don't compete on cost. They compete on bells and whistles.

When I was at the University of Texas, the business school had 12,000 students. We were all in the Business-Economics Building and the attached Graduate School of Business Building. There were always empty classrooms.

Texas has 5,000 in the school of business now. They just built a brand new building for the graduate school of business across the street from the BEB/GSB.
