Kennedy Sullivan is 13-2, Kelsey Aikey is 6-3, and Shelby Nunn is 4-0. Opponents are hitting .186 against Aikey, .187 against Sullivan, and .194 against Nunn.

We are also a really good hitting team. Hitting .293 as a team and averaging almost 5.6 runs per game. We also have 61 stolen bases.

Saw yesterday that we rank 51st in the nation with a team batting average of 300.
Are there any sites that givea complete listing of rankings for all teams. Would like to see if we are near picking up a few votes. All I see are just top 25.

I fully expect Charlotte to fire their coach after this season. Program has vastly underperformed for quite some time, add in new AD and their own indoor training facility, recipe for change. That's about as much discussion as you will get on softball from Niner fans at this point.

Marshall wins the series against WKU 2-1...

Marshall wins the 1st and 3rd games, The 3rd game was won in walk off in the 8th inning. Marshall now 25-13. Considering we only won 24 games last year under Jenn Steele with the basically the same roster tells me she wasn't right for the position, she is the University of Delaware's problem now.

North Texas swept St. Mary's this weekend and is currently on a 7 game winning streak. The Mean Green are tied with LA Tech for the lead in the west, although North Texas owns a 2-1 advantage in our head to head games this season.

RE: C-USA Softball
USM swept UAB at UAB and now has a 9 game winning streak...7 in CUSA play and 2 OOC games. If tournament play started this weekend UAB (CUSA tournament host) would not be in it as they are 1 game out of the 8th spot.

And looking at the CUSA records I have a question for those who know....with an even amount of softball teams (12), why is it there's a built in bye week once CUSA play starts?? USM is at 18 CUSA games while La Tech and UNT both are at 15. As well USM has a bye this weekend (Easter weekend) yet other teams have CUSA scheduled games.

RE: C-USA Softball
Tournament host results last 5 years:
2018 @ Charlotte and they didn't qualify
2017 @ USM and they didn't qualify
2016 @ North Texas and they didn't qualify
2015 @ FIU and they didn't qualfiy
2014 @ FAU and they were the 4 seed

With UAB getting swept their last 2 weekends (had a bye in between the 2 weekends) they are now in danger of being the 5th straight team to host AND miss the tournament...and not sure of exact tiebreaker so they might already be eliminated. There's 1 weekend left in the regular season. The top 3 of each side along with 2 "next best" records make up the 8 team tournament and here's the standings: teams in bold are already qualified

WEST:
UNT 17-4 (host MTSU) (swept LT already)
La Tech 17-4 (at USM)
USM 12-9
(host La Tech)
UTSA 8-13 (at WKU)
UTEP 8-13 (host FIU)
UAB 5-15 (at Charlotte)

EAST:
WKU 15-6 (host UTSA)(lost 2/3 to Marshall in the event they finished tied)
Marshall 14-7 (host FAU)

MTSU 9-11 (at UNT)
FAU 7-14 (at Marshall)
FIU 6-14 (at UTSA)
Charlotte 6-14 (host UAB)

RE: C-USA Softball
What has happened to FIU and FAU? For a long time they were right up there contending for a conference title. Same could be said for UAB. They were always in the hunt for a softball title since Marshall joined the conference in 2005.

Recruiting
Facilities not be upkept
New coaches that don't know what they are doing

Marshall went though 2 coaching changes in the last 2 years when Shonda Stanton took the HC job at Indiana after the 2017 season. They hired Jacksonville University HC Jennifer Steele in 2017 and for whatever reason she just didn't feel right to the Marshall and Huntington community. She went 24-29 and resigned the day after the CUSA tournament. She became the HC at Delaware at the end of July last year, they are 21-26. Marshall then hired Megan Smith the HC at Kansas last year, she had 6 seasons in a row with 30 or more wins and 2 super regionals, with this year she has now had 7 30 win seasons in a row.

Not a UAB fan but I read on their board every now and then. They had a very successful softball coach who was "promoted" to an administration role in the last few years but then her administrator position was eliminated. Also, I think that possibly "facilities" might becoming an issue as there's a thread on the UAB board talking about how baseball and softball facilities at UAB are lagging behind. I'm sure UAB fans can elaborate more but just my .02 cents from scanning their board.

You're pretty accurate. Although I'm pretty high on the coach UAB has now. After talking to him about all of the players he has coming in, I think they're going to take a pretty big jump next year.

I'm sure it was UAB's coach being a coach, but I actually asked the HC who had the best stadium in CUSA and he said UAB did. I went to a game this weekend for the first time and the stadium seemed pretty nice. New coach said they had replaced a few things prior to this season, and they had quite a few things they'd be doing in the next 2-3 years.

Baseball is awful though...the softball stadium looks better and appears to be ~40% larger.
