Sure, but I do not believe you will get much support. Those schools like to live in the shadow.

UNCP used to be Pembroke State...decided to change for the boost it believed UNC gave it...

Only one I could see contemplating a change is Greensboro, but I doubt there's as much confusion.

Elizabeth City State was considering a move to UNC Elizabeth City but alumni blowback was too much
