Talked to one of my colleagues who was there last night. Said that there was a local youth basketball program there that got to play on the court at halftime. He said there were probably 100 there between kids and parents. Great job by that organization getting there and working through the time change. Always good to get these groups in there during a win. Perhaps a few will come back.
Looking for a good crowd Saturday—-weather is going to be about 80 degrees warming and Toledo, with Navigato from Geneva always has a good showing. I think Navigato and Santa were teammates on that team that made the state run.
Gonna try to make the trek down.

Rockets won in DeKalb last year by 30, PAYBACK. NIU needs to come with as much energy as they did vs Buffalo to have a shot. This Toledo game is historically one NIU loses without question. It is an over the hump type game which would put them at 6-3. History would tell us though, NIU lays an egg in these over the hump games at home.

Thorpe was very impressive last night. Scoring team high 20 points - 10 in the last 5.22 minutes. 4-4 3pts, 6-6 FT, 5-6 FG.
Take away Thorpe numbers and NIU shot 18% 3pt, 38%FG.
Kudos to Gino with 6 assists.
Ohio was leading with under 7 minutes left!

Ohio may have been leading but they never, at any point, had more than a 2 point lead.

Maybe a glass half full half empty thing but my point with Ohio leading with under 7 minutes left was the game was a nail biter at that point. My first thought at the end of the game was the final score does not reflect how tight the game was!
We were laughing in the 2nd half at Ohio's inept shooting and I was asked why we weren't up by 20 points. I was thinking we are lucky we aren't down by 20 if only Ohio shoots average. I give Ohio credit - they shut down our inside game.
