No they’re not. 2/3-3/4 of the bloated federal gubment is fully funded. It’s only a relatively small cutout of around 800k (yes, 800,000 people is relatively small in our fed govt, amazingly).

But they’re real people, many of whom are actually doing real work, real jobs, like the CG and they deserve to be paid. Now.

Not really. Then it goes to Schmucky and we get to see what HE does. So far he’s in lockstep favor of blocking anything like this too.

Once there are 20-25 dems voting in favor in the house, I don't think senate dems will oppose.

To expound upon JMU's comment; the Coast Guard is the only group in the 800,000 that due to being subject to UCMJ can't just up and quit. For example, I'm personally aware of several civilian positions which have been vacated due solely to the shutdown (drastic measure I know). They turned in their notice to their supervisors and effectively quit. If anyone can find me just ONE CG member who could do that... I'll change my mind. Until then, "they're just like all the others going without paychecks" simply doesn't apply.
