Not particularly I don't think. Germans are definitely the largest European immigrant population in Cincinnati. I'm more of a coney guy myself. I've rarely ever ordered a Way.

The chili started out on hot dogs back in the 1920's. It was Mediterranean cuisine. They then expanded it to the Cincinnati chili a little later on. That's what is says on Wiki.

It tastes pretty good. I had an employee who was from there and made it for a bunch of us. Looked just like that photo too.

I believe that style has Greek origins. I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong.

No you are right. The sauce is different than the chili you know in that it includes Cinnamon and nutmeg. Some people also put in dark chocolate.

Nothing better than a good mole sauce on enchiladas or chicken

I've gotta say I wasn't that crazy about mole sauce. I only had it once though.

First time I had it I hated it until I learned that some white guy made it. Get you an old Hispanic woman to make it and you will fall in love.

With the sauce or the old Hispanic woman?

USFFan

PS - lived in California for 20 years. Had mole lots of times. It's just OK. Homemade green or red enchilada sauce (especially New Mexico red chili sauce) is better.

Exactly this. Gueleguetza in L.A. changed everything for me. Similar to the impact of The Shed in Santa Fe and my love for green chile.
