Huge game for the season. We need to get over the hump and go above .500. Now is the time to rattle off some victories. La Tech is a team that will be in the mix for a top 4 seed. The mission is to get that bye.

Well said - this is a must win to get into the top “pod.” Students are back, so hopefully the Ted is rocking! Although we certainly brought the noise without the students against the toppers.

Huge game, yes. Gotta get back on track. Is it just me or do we seem to be playing a lot worse since BJ got hurt? Throw in Godwin being out too. One other thing that has changed too. We have now have transfer Oliver working into practice so that's three new things that have changed since the 8 game winning streak. And the 4th, the two weeks off with no games, we just don't seem the same. Defense has really dropped off.

RE: La Tech @ The Ted 1/17
Going back and looking at last 2.

Offensively, did ok vs. FIU and ok defensively overall, but we aren't going to win many by turning the ball over 28% of the time. Part of that is FIUs defensive strategy, but we still need to clean that up. Shot the ball pretty well and Carvers 7 offensive rebounds were one of the keys. (rebounded well overall) Need to cut down on the fouls....26 free throws is ridic.

FAU- did really well offensively (everyone but BJ). 1.14 ppp is going to win almost every night. But, again, they shot 22 free throws...we need to cut down on fouling. They shot 57% from 3 which is unsustainable. They shot 73%from the stipe and they didn't turn the ball over much.

KenPom has us at a 68% chance of winning. Important game.

If Caver doens't go 1-11 from 3 we should win the game. Caver needs to realize pretty quick during a game if he has it or not from 3. No need to keep shooting if its not falling. Drive the lane and make the easy 2.

Our problem vs. FAU was defensively. It was our best game all year offensively.

RE: La Tech @ The Ted 1/17
Thursday 7:00 at the Ted: La Tech (13-5, 3-2 CUSA). ESPN+

Results to date: Wichita St (71-58); Sam Houston St (76-69); Harding (89-58); LSU (67-74); Tougaloo (87-68); UNCG (73-80); Delaware (71-75); Houston Baptist (85-78); Prairie View A&M (82-68); SF Austin (96-93 OT); Miss Valley St(96-80); La-Lafayette (83-62); TAMU-CC (73-68); S Miss (71-56); N Texas (59-63); Rice (66-78); UAB (64-53); MTSU (73-56).

Last game: La Tech made 11 consecutive shots in a 23-4 run, but only led 39-33 at HT. A 7-0 run to start the second half restored a comfortable lead and La Tech cruised to the 73-56 win. Anthony Duruji led LT with 19 pts (7-10 FG, 2-4 3s), Ambrio Archibald had 15 with 7 assists while Mubarak Muhammed came off the bench with 11 pts and 10 RBs.
Stats: 76.8 pts (vs 68.7); .462 FG (.346 3s); .678 FT; +2.0 RB; A/TO= 1.3

Starters (MTSU)
F Anthony Duruji (6-7 215 So). 29.3 min.; .450 FG (22-70 3s); .652 FT; 5.6 RB; 1.5 blocks; 12.6 pts
F Oliver Powell (6-8 240 Jr). 26.1 min.; .510 FG; .729 FT; 5.9 RB; 8.5 pts
G JaColby Pemberton (6-5 190 So). 25.1 min.; .573 FG (18-43 3s); .695 FT; 5.2 RB; 10.3 pts
G Ambrio Archibald (6-3 185 So). 30.2 min.; .409 FG (31-86 3s); .732 FT; 4.2 RB; 10.4 pts
G Da’Quan Bracey (5-11 175 Jr). 28.0 min.; .437 FG (17-57 3s); .617 FT; 2.4 RB; 1.1 steals; 3.6 assists; 13.4 pts

Bench
G Ra’Shawn Langston (6-3 200 Jr). 20.0 min.; .43 FG (23-69 3s); .708 FT; 1.6 RB; 7.2 pts
F Mubarak Muhammed (6-7 220 Jr). 17.0 min.; .562 FG (4-11 3s); .579 FT; 5.0 RB; 5.7 pts

Great shooting team. Team lacks depth at guard, but has developed tremendous chemistry resulting in shared ball handling and scoring. For example, team avg 14 TOs/g 1st 5 games and 8.9 over the last 5 games. Note how evenly points, RBs and assists are distributed: four players 10+ pts/g, 5 players 4+ RBs and 14.6 A/g as a team but only 2 player > 2/g. Possible Achilles heel is FT shooting…only .593 in 5 CUSA games.

I keep hoping that one day you will understand how offense effects defense and how defense effects offense.

If anyone has two extras for this game, I'd be interested. PM me.

Not a lot of chatter on this one. Crucial game for pod standings. Hope we get an engaged crowd and can avoid the SLOW start that has plagued this season.

I expect to see a good turn out tonight. The fans have been the most consistent thing about this year's ODU mbb team.

Regarding the game, it's hard to have any meaningful opinion when you have no idea what to expect. This year's team is puzzling. We're kind of like the annual Christmas present from your half-crazy aunt. It could be great. But it also could be so unexpectedly bad that you will be embarrassed to have unwrapped it.

As long as there is a final buzzer lead for ODU, I'll be happy, but I get what you are saying. Enough with the slow starts!

I think reddit has some subreddit about college basketball streams that are free...not sure about link though. Someone here might be able to assist.

For $5 you can watch our next 5 games and then cancel. Or pay another $5 for Feb and watch the rest of the seasons games that are on there. IMO that might as well be free compared to some of the crappy stream we've had to endure (for double the price) on cusa.tv

Razor, I know its not free, but ESPN plus has the game listed. I watched almost all the away games and a couple football games. Pretty good experience and worth the dough. Seems to be the future, so I decided to board the train
