RE: Official 2020 recruiting thread
Lester said that they had 20 spots to give and signed 20 this morning, so they are done. If there's attrition between now and February, they'll likely go after some grad transfers instead of signing more freshmen. There will also be no early enrollees.
This class looks very strong. It's obvious that they wanted to stock up on defensive players, especially DBs. They ended up signing 6 defensive backs (Griffin, Piper, Enechukwu, Iraci, Kilburg, Pledger). As far as the other guys marked "athletes", Fletcher will be at LB, Beck is at RB, and Sambucci will be a WR.
When asked about early contributors, Lester mentioned Pledger, Kilburg, Mack and Sambucci as the guys that are physically capable of playing right away. In 2017 he said Jayden Reed and last year he said Skyy Moore, so...he might know what he's talking about.
And now, everyone's favorite part: the WMU vs CMU recruiting battle. In the spirit of competition, I'll break down the results of this cycle. Things can still change up through the signing period in February, but the classes are pretty much set at this point. I look mostly at 247 for information, but I also check Rivals.
