You shut your hole!!

Kaner
Wondering if there is an OC out there looking for some head coaching experience such as Ferentz (using him as an example ONLY) that’s a head coach in waiting under the present boss? Might be a stretch but 3-4 years at NIU and then back to the P5 program.

So what you're saying is Temple has been a more successful football program than NIU in the last 10-20 years? I guess all those times we beat them in the conference didn't matter either.
NIU beating Temple a decade ago is irrelevant. Temple’s last 4 coaches have moved onto bigger jobs. He’s living in a better city and working for a program where he will get paid more and have better resources.
It’s not even close.
Jerry Kill and Dave Doeren left for P5 jobs too. If Carey was a better coach maybe he could have gotten a P5 gig too.
You are literally too stupid to argue with.
At what point does a 30-year old man become mature enough to learn how to have civil discussions without attacking someone who doesn't have the same opinion as him?
the point is, you're basing the value of a coaching opportunity entirely on program success. that's not great thinking.

I'm both dying laughing and terrified that it's actually kinda plausible.
Connection to Frazier as well. Interesting.

Temple is 35-19 over the last 4 seasons. The problem with many NIU fans is they live in 2010-2013

And my point is you don't need to attack someone who doesn't share your opinions on Rod Carey or Temple. He can think Temple is better than most P5 gigs for all i care. I have no need to attack someone who doesn't share my viewpoints. We're all grown adults capable of keeping things civil.
NIU is a good job, just because we don't pay someone $2+ million doesn't diminish the fact that this is a good mid-major program, has been successful over the last 20 years, easy to win here, and provides great opportunities to move onto P5 jobs.

28, 29, or whatever age you are you should have matured beyond the point of attacking other people who don't share your viewpoints.

RE: New Coach Discussion
Curt Mallory lived in DeKalb when his dad Bill was coach. He played for the DeKalb Barbs and also played at Michigan. He is the Head Coach at FCS school Indiana State in the MVC. He was the Missouri Valley coach of the year in 2018. And also the Phil Steel FCS coach of the year in 2018. He turned a really bad team around in one year. He held several assistant jobs at MAC and Big Ten Schools so he knows the midwest well. I would think he would get an interview.

RE: New Coach Discussion
Indiana State is something like the EMU of the MVFC. Worst job in the conference, no support, but they finished the season ranked 25th in FCS after going 0-11 in 2017. Curt Mallory should get a look for the same reason Chris Creighton should get looks.

RE: New Coach Discussion
Canada is a quick fix if that’s who we go with. He’s playing musical chairs throughout the NCAA. Kane is good but someone brought up a good point(He worked for Carey). Our defense would stay stout, but can he develop an offense.
Hammock is a true HUSKIE. Played running back for NIU. Was part of the program as they were starting to turn things around. Understands the Hardway model. Had heart issues which forced him to quit playing football. Immediately went into coaching. Groomed Garrett Wolfe when he was at NIU developed some great backs at Wisconsin. His experience coaching in the NFL already makes him the best candidate. Can recruit his ass off. Maybe he can convince Ryan Diem to come coach the O- line.

The assistant coach life is a vagabond's life. Nothing to hold against a guy.
The thing in Hammock's background that makes me balky about him is that the offenses he's worked in aren't exactly the picture of modern, dynamic offense.
