They changed the scene to that because Ford had dysentery.

Ah, thanks for the info. Would have been a better story if he just walked out, did what he did unbeknownst to the director, and just walk off afterwards.

No, it doesn't.

The Bible has sentences which, taken out of context, encourage invading a neighbor and killing everyone. But that's like saying that Goldilocks and the Three Bears tells us to avoid sleeping on hard beds if you want to get a good night's sleep. If that's what you got out of the story, you're completely missing the point.

If a Christian can swear in on the Bible then a Muslim can swear in on the Koran. The recent AZ Senator Siesma just swore in on a law book.

It's all OK.

The difference is quite obvious. Christians don't follow those passages in the Old Testament now. The new Testament is the predominate guide to Christian life. Christianity moved away from the violent rhetoric and embraced the love and compassion of the New Testament.

No so much with Islam. It has its own version of old and new testaments. Unfortunately the violent testament is still followed by a huge segment of Muslims. Islam is still stuck in its violent past. Christianity has moved on from it.

I read the Koran back in college while dating a Turkish girl. Yeah, there's crazy stuff in both; however, lots of it is in how it is interpreted, just as it is in the bible.

I've never understood the apparent false equivalency Christian's evince by saying that the NT is what is followed now while railing against Islam and the people that follow certain portions of it and not others, namely the more violent verses in the Hadith. If abrogation of the OT works for Christianity why not for the Q'uran ?

The violent verses of the Quran came after the more peaceful earlier ones. The killing of the infidels abrogates the live and let live.

Basically, God crested mankind, but then Adam and Eve ate of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, and sin entered into the world. Mankind was given the law in order to atone for their sins and restore themselves to God.

Mankind’s rebellion continued and had no end in sight, so God destroyed the world by a flood, leaving Noah and his family to restart humanity.

Mankind still didn’t do any better with the law, so then God sent Jesus Christ to serve as a sacrifice in place of what was prescribed by the law. That was then followed up by the Holy Spirit at Pentecost after Jesus ascended into Heaven. Authority switched from Jewish religious leaders carrying out Old Testament Law, to the teachings of Jesus Christ and his disciples.

I'm aware of the supposed reasons, I grew up Catholic. It just doesn't make sense.

The Jews still follow the OT, but Christians are right chummy with the Jews. The Pharisees allowed the Messiah to be crucified and yet the Christians are welcoming toward Jews. So what is it about peaceful Muslims that the Christians don't like?

No one has a problem with peaceful Muslims, they aren't following Islam. Islam will kill them too.
