On espn+ at 6pm central.
NET rank N Ky 138 NIU 178
N Ky favored by 7 1/2
Hoping Huskies can bring home a road win. Huskies lost in OT in Dekalb but hopeful that German can make the difference.

Lead at half. Guarding the threes better. And NKY has no inside offense.

Huskies don’t seem to be shooting well so far. Likely will not be no.1 in field goal percentage for long.

Bad 2nd half for NIU, a bunch of turnovers and NKU getting a ton of offensive rebounds.

Their offensive rebounding is killing us.

Guess they can slap at ball and hands and no foul, but bump a body instant foul

Sad when a team with a wrestler at guard is beating the Huskies

So NIU will go into conference with 7 wins after beating Chicago St and getting crushed by MSU. They will need another 11 wins to play in post season. They still can’t win on the road!

NIU has to find a way to create turnovers, seems like opposition is always putting up more shots than NIU. NIU is still an 8 win team in conference in my opinion. To have a shot at .500, I think they have to steal one of the first 2, either @ Ohio or @ Miami.

Same Old S--t.
I'm sure STF and dekalb222 will advocate to give Monty another extension.
This is insanity -- defined as doing the same thing but expecting a different outcome. This program is going nowhere under Monty. The record will hover around .500 at best and based on a lucky bounce, the Huskies don't get eliminated in the first-round of the MAC post-season tournament. Same old stuff that has happened throughout Monty's tenure.
Typical Monty post-game after a loss: blame one or two poor calls by officials for determining the outcome instead of ever rising above; talk about having to deal with the mentality of 18 / 19-year-olds as if he doesn't understand that's his job; pick out a statistic that could be considered a highlight and ignore the four or five other others that had a larger impact on the outcome; and bemoan the quick turnaround for the next game -- who made the schedule? BTW, Chicago State is not -- and never should be considered -- an in-state rival.
Can't believe in a previous thread dekalb222 noting NIU is "leading the nation in field goal percentage." Big whoop when the team record is 6-4.
Perhaps MD as usual goes overboard talking about Buffalo being a 2 seed but dekalb222 then asks "who have they faced?" and once again in typical non-relevant spin, says Syracuse had one more basket than Buffalo. SO WHAT. Are you delusional enough to think IF Monty's team played at Syracuse they'd do better?
We're now 6-5 and "who has NIU faced? Not Syracuse, not West Virginia, not a then unbeaten San Francisco.
Before the season began, would you have predicted UB to be undefeated versus this schedule? St. Francis (PA), West Virginia, Southern Illinois, Dartmouth, Marist, Wisconsin-Milwaukee, San Francisco, Le Moyne, St. Bonaventure, Southern Illinois again, and Syracuse?
Go back through Monty's tenure of mediocrity and tell us how he has fared against Dartmouth, Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and Southern Illinois? And yes, SIU was a two-time foe back in 2012-13 and Monty's team lost both.

The refs do job NIU even at home. German gets hacked in the lane constantly and no calls. MM must have zero rapport with officials.

Well we have beat Rockford and Illinois Tech that counts for two of our six wins. I bet 90% of this board and our student body have no idea where Illinois Tech is located and how many years they have transition to a NCAA Division III program.

It just sucks the MM can’t get over the hump. He’s a very nice individual
with a wonderful family. Because of that I keep rooting for him but it just doesn’t look like it will work out.
I’m still convinced that his assistant do him no favors but he was the one that hired them and didn’t fire them.
