However the move to change the name of the popular snack has been met with fierce criticism in some quarters. Scottish Conservatives have argued that changing the name of a cafe item trivialises the issue of sexual harassment. Scottish Conservative Equalities spokesman Annie Wells told the Daily Mail: “Surely the Scottish Parliament has got better things to do than worry about what to call gingerbread men? This is an utterly pointless gesture which simply trivialises the real issues of gender equality.” But the coffee shop has pressed on with its proposed change from gingerbread men to gingerbread persons regardless. The new name does not appear to have had a negative impact on sales either.

What is it about Leftists that make them so weak?

A few municipalities I've done work for have renamed manholes to maintenance holes to remove the gender in the name. They're both abbreviated MH on my drawings, so it's not too big of a deal. I don't know of any women in my field who have ever had a problem with calling them manholes... But at the end of the day, I've got bigger things to worry about than the nomenclature of underground concrete structures that provide access to utilities.

I believe they ended up agreeing on "huperson" as an appropriate replacement.
