RE: Why Auburn, UAB coaches were called for technical fouls
In the movie Hoosiers Hackman had a line where he said - I apologize for nothing. When you are coaching the way you believe to be correct & doing what you think needs to be done or saying what you think needs to be said there is no reason to apologize.

Did he? The articles I read pointed out that he didn't want to make an issue out of it, but the media obviously needed some drama from the game.

Every break. Every call against them. He was on tv yelling at the officials.
Imagine what Auburn fans would be saying today if Ehsan said something similar about them like Pearl did UAB.
I imagine Ehsan and the bench got tired of his bitching about everything.
It's what Bruce does. I did really enjoy seeing Ehsan point out the referee hypocrisy a few times. Refs told Ehsan to stop yelling, so he pointed to Bruce and said wtf. Later on they told him to get back behind the line, so Ehsan pointed at Bruce, who was basically standing on the court.

I don't believe that Ehsan & Pearl are quite as buddy / buddy as they were prior to the game.
Will be interesting to see if Ingram decides to hand over another 4 year series to Auburn.

Apparently, Auburn was the one who wanted the 2nd game in Birmingham to be at the BJCC instead of at Bartow. If I were AU's AD, I would want all games in the series to be at the BJCC with $$ split 50/50 each year. They pretty much had home court advantage Saturday night.

I’d be for that. UAB could use the money. Better that they have home court advantage at BJCC than at Bartow Arena.
UAB had a home court advantage at Bartow back in 2016, I thought. Definitely not at the BJCC this past weekend tho. It was probably 70-30 or 75-25 Auburn. But I would be fine with it being at BJCC every year... especially when the upgrades are made.

More like 80/20 favoring Auburn. That's on UAB fans and Admin. I argued why are UAB fans spread out and not seated together, again UAB fans are at fault. Auburn fans were more interested in seeing their team play than UAB fans were, so Auburn fans bought the seats UAB fans wouldn't, not didn't but wouldn't purchase. We had no energy for our team...Now having said that I still rather play Auburn in front of 15,000, even at a 80/20 fan split.

I personally didn't want to be in the same building with them while Pearl is coaching there.
I tolerated being in the same building with previous coaches & actually thought fondly of the Tommy Joe Eagles & Jeff Lebos of the world.

RE: Why Auburn, UAB coaches were called for technical fouls
Where to begin?
First i would love to continue this series and would be thrilled if all games were at BJCC where we could play to the largest possible crowds. Of course Auburn had more fans there last Saturday. They were ranked in top 10 and their fans expected an easy win over a program that is down. That's the same reason many of our fans stayed home. Please don't anyone try telling me you thought we had a real chance. Many previous games at Civic Center we had the larger crowds because at the time we had the better program. That's how it works.
As far as Pearl working the refs, that is what a veteran coach does. His job is to win for Auburn just as Ehsan slowed it down to give UAB the best chance of winning. Auburn fan's views on us slowing it down are no more relevant than our fans bitching about Pearl working the refs. Blame the refs for being spineless not Pearl. Now i don't like what Pearl apparently said after the game about Eshan but i dont disagree with it. (The game two years ago at Bartow was the worst officiating ive seen). My criticism of Ehsan for the most part has been what seemed to be a lack of passion. I wanted to see him fight more for his players and they would in turn fight more during a game. Maybe he turned a corner last Saturday. From all counts we got after it pretty good. If we play with that kind of spirit i will be happy to say i was wrong about him.
Btw i've heard that the tensions began before the game. Players and some coaches were mouthing off to each other during warm ups. I actually hope that is true.

Your excuse is ridiculous
That & the fact that I had a Christmas parade at that time that my daughter was in made it an easy choice.
I can't exactly recall the last UAB / AU game that I attended but it certainly was held at Bartow Arena.
Might have been whenever Haase had a game there if he did.

I agree. Sadly, many Blazer fans stayed at home due to us not being too good this season. On an up year, or coming off a good season from the previous year, I would think it would be more UAB fans in attendance. Would love to see it 50-50 at the BJCC.

LOL. I love the fact that people stay home because we are turrible. It lets everyone else know right up front who is a fair weather fan. It is also EXACTLY the opposite of what your team needs. When the team is struggling, that is when they need you the most.

Circular reasoning circling the bowl.
With even a 50-50 split crowd here, in our city, UAB wins that game Saturday night.

He’ll probably make the terms outrageous... 4 for 1, with the 1 being at BJCC.
