RE: Darrell Henderson 10th Place Heisman Vote
Clearly many Heisman voters don't pay attention, they just wait for the Media to spoon feed them info. And we all know the media has a big hand in giving you their view. If voters would just watch film and/or highlights then their eyeballs would have then voting for DH in a higher slot. Also though, I have to think that our soft schedule had something to do with this. Everyone thinks "yeah he's a nice RB but who did he do it against"?

Yep. Just a quick question. If a RB from Louisiana Monroe had 1900 yards, played but missed most of the game they had with Missouri, would we be arguing that he was robbed or a victim of bias if he was not invited to NYC?

Or is it the tenth place instead of 5th place that is the big deal.

Henderson is an All American on many fronts and was a finalist for the Doak Walker, which was won by a really good running back from Wisconsin. No one had to force feed that to me.

Before attacking, if the Monroe running back had identical numbers to Henderson would he be as deserving?

We had a better team because of also having a Patrick Taylor. I’ll take the wins over a few hundred more yards for Henderson and maybe 7th place.

The Heisman to me is no big deal. We all know how they operate.

But, yeah, if the Monroe running back set an NCAA all-time record for highest average yards per carry, he would be just as deserving.

It was a shame he was injured in the Mizzou game; it reminded me of DeAngelo Williams injury before the UT game.

If a a Memphis Guy has a chance for the atheism an, he has to be perfect, and we have to win.

Improve the schedule, AND win every game.

Very proud of the young man from South Panola. He represented his home and his university very well, and will go down in Tiger history as one of the greatest ever.

Next up!

Yep, no doubt. I would love to see him one more time but he probably needs to start think of his future.

What makes this voting even more ridiculous is the fact Milton got 4 first place votes when his numbers weren't all that great this year. Heck King for Houston had better numbers than Milton.

Nice recognition. To even get votes for the best player in college football is quite the accomplishment.

I hope a Memphis guy is not competing for Atheism, lol.

Darrell Henderson and Quinnen Williams were both worthy to me. But then Dwayne Haskins did what he did to Michigan and ended up smashing Brees' Big Ten records. I agree that it's too QB-centric nowadays, but it should have been this year.

In fact the winner isn't planning his nfl career but he is turning pro. Baseball. $4.66M.

Wow.
I would a picked football, but good for him. Baseball players generally enjoy longer careers.

And make a lot more money. Baseball is still the best and most difficult game. Every first round pick in the NBA will start at sometime in their rookie season. Every first round pick in the NFL will play in their rookie season. Most first round picks will go directly to rookie ball and many will not make it past single A ball in their rookie season. Baseball is much more cerebral and requires much more athleticism. Ever tried to hit a single A curve ball? Also baseball is the only game that TV has not ruined. Until we have hologram TV baseball will not be appreciated by most fans. If you ever lived in a city with big league ball you would understand why they call those cities Major League.
