Depends on how well he recruits.

He's already got a better ranked recruiting class at JMU this year than UCONN has and he's in a lower division. He's about 2 points higher than the avg for Navy and he's about the same as Tulsa & Tulane for avg per recruit. JMU is currently is ranked #1 in the CAA and is #3 overall in the FCS just behind NDSU & Yale. He's got 2 LBs in JMU's class that he may try to bring to ECU with him that would be the #2 & #3 ranked players in our class if they joined. I'd say it's safe to say that he's a pretty good recruiter.

It doesn't take much talent to out-recruit Edsall...

Mike Houston took an FCS squad to NC State and lost by 12. We went there and lost by 55. 'Nuff said.

Holton Ahlers could be our best recruiter. The coaches might have contact restrictions, but he says he's been in contact with all the commits, trying to get them excited to come to East Carolina. He sounds so much older than what he is.

Glad we got our two wins before this guy comes on board. Fortunate timing.

I have a feeling he'll actually prep for FCS opponents like you should.

Actually, JMU only lost by 11 & it was really a lot closer than the score would seem as JMU had a costly unforced turnover in the redzone (from the 6-yd line to be exact when the ball slipped out of the QBs hands) and NCSU subsequently turned that into 7-pts in the final seconds of the 1st half. Ultimately, the wolfpack still needed a TD with about a minute to go to protect their home field. JMU had pitched a shutout against a potent Ncsu offense in the 2nd half till that final score.

The show had so many more sponsors back then. Can somebody call Kentucky Fried Chicken and get them back on board?

RE: Mike Houston to ECU
I watched Mike's interview with Pirate Radio and man I can't wait to see the changes he will bring to the program. Between me moving across the pond and the administration/performance on the field.. I lost quite a bit of interest in how the season goes anymore.

Personally, I think Houston fits right in with ECU and who we are as a community. He is from the state and understands how much ECU football means to the area. His fiery attitude and no excuses demeanor honestly go hand in hand with our underdog mentality.
