Notnow: I'm not sure that li'l Stock can even accept a grad assistant position since he already has a Master's Degree. Guess he could go into one of your PHd programs while starting his coaching career. O course, there is at least a slim chance that Brent gets a (very late round or UFA) shot to play in the NFL from somebody. But the kid is gonna ultimately be a great QB coach for somebody.

RE: 2018 All Conference
I could have seen Singletary winning it again. He had another great season, but Stock was a surprise to me. He is great QB, but I don't think he had a better season then Fine. That's my opinion anyway.

On the positive side... I'm sure Fine will use this snub as extra motivation this off season.

By the numbers that matter...

Mason Fine- 12 games 3,734 yards 27 touchdowns 5 interceptions 311 yards per game

Brent Stockstill- 13 games 3,241 yards 28 touchdowns 8 interceptions 249 yards per game

Averaged giving up 11 points in CUSA games.
Arguably the best defense in CUSA.
Led CUSA in tackles for loss and also sacks
2nd in the country in 3rd down conversions allowed.
Led the country in 4th down conversions allowed.
All this without a 1st team all conference player.
Great team players!
I’m impressed with the coaches.

I had similar thoughts concerning the Southern Miss defense and only having 1 1st team and 1 2nd team all CUSA player.

I think Southern Miss was in the top 5 nationally allowing less than 280 yards of offense per game. The offense's generosity in giving the ball to the opponents helped inflate the points per game allowed.

You can also rationalize that Southern Miss offense was so bad that teams played conservative and went for field position thus did not need to be explosive and kept it basic and helping defensive stats for Eagles. That said, the Southern Miss defense was still great.

I also was shocked with USM having so little representation on first team defense.

You could also say we played a lot of crap offenses. UNT was the best offense we played all year. La Tech, Marshall, UAB, Charlotte, UTEP, Rice, and UTSA, all had mediocre or bad offenses. Auburn was notoriously bad this year. Just one of those seasons.
