Watched a lot of basketball the last few days (first time in years that I've watched games the Tigers didn't play in). We are no where near good enough to compete with top 25 teams. Any win we get against these tournament teams should be considered a huge victory. Let's concentrate on the AAC this year and sneaking into the tournament. Next year we'll be ready for prime time.

That being said, we definitely have a chance to beat anyone on our schedule except maybe UT Knoxville, so

GO TIGERS! BEAT THE BOYS!

Observations:

1. We are a 2.5 point underdog

2. OK St shoots 46.2% from three (7th in nation). Dziagwa hits a blistering 62% from three.

3. OK St's point guard Likekele is a freshman (3*)

4. OK St's turnover margin is +2 while the Tiger's turnover margin is +7 (16th in nation)

5. OK St starting line up is 6-4, 6-4, 6-6, 6-7, 6-8

6. OK St does not appear deep

7. The key to the game to me is limiting OK St's three point effectiveness, figuring out how to use Tyler (mismatch for us and OK St), creating turnovers, and wearing OK St down through fatigue and foul trouble.

2.5 underdog...Eh...I wouldn't bet it.

But that is because I have no idea how good this team is...

T. Tech is just pitiful and Yale isn't great.

It looks like the returners are going to be who they were last year. We now need the newcomers to be much more efficient offensively if this team is going to be successful.

They did lose to a now 2-2 Charlotte team (ranked 305 on Kenpom) on the road though. They are also one of the youngest teams in the country. It's really hard to tell. There guards could give us some trouble with their height but hopefully we can offset that by turning them over.

I disagree. We competed with LSU. Now top 10 teams I agree. We will get better. I too have been watching alot more teams this year and we have a lot to still learn. But I wasnt expecting much this year. I do believe we will do well in conference play.

In watching games this year it seems like everyone wants to be like Golden State. I have seen layups and other high percentage shots given up to kick it out to a shooter at the 3 point line. You should take the highest percentage shot every time.

I think this team will come out running and gunning early, shooting the ball well. I think this is how the coaching staff and Penny wants to approach this game. Penny might want to shock them early, as often as we can, and get that lead.

I'm in the middle on this. I had the same takeaway from watching the top-ranked teams--the Tigers aren't at that level. Duke/Gonzaga was crazy good. But, the Tigers did compete at LSU with a whole different look. I had qualms about how that might turn out, but they hung in there. I do think this team will improve rapidly when they figure out rotations, etc. Dare I say, it's a process? We might take a few body blows early, but I have every confidence they'll become difficult to beat.

I expect we will get blown out sometimes this year, but based on games played to date there is no dominate AAC school. Upon improvement, we should have a legitimate opportunity to win the AAC Tourney at home.

Meanwhile, I will enjoy the ride. The guys play very hard and the style enjoyable to watch.

Agree. I thought we had a pretty good showing against LSU.

We already played a top 25 team close on the road. Did we even do that the 2 years tubby was here?

We can compete with top 25 teams. Not top 5 teams like Duke and Gonzaga of course.
