Could this be a 'tickets sold' situation vs a 'scanned' issue? I know last season football went with scanned tix (first time?) and maintained it into this season also. We know basketball now uses 'paid' but haven't heard anything about football. I do know there were once again scanner issues entering the stadium Friday.

The game 2 years ago had more in actual attendance as I recall. Maybe the game 2 years ago had better weather and Houston was ranked. Did the game 2 years ago start at 11:00 or later in the afternoon, this could have been a factor also.

Houston was ranked and the weather was better. Nuff said.

After research the game 2 years ago was on a Saturday, it was 55 and sunny around kickoff, and Houston was ranked 20th

I read a short story many many years ago entitled "The Last Superbowl". About VR sports making live action sports irrelevant. Hadn't thought about it in 30 yrs or more until I read your post. Just looked it up - it was written in 1973 by George RR Martin of Game of Thrones fame.
