That was a entertaining game to watch. Players left it out there for sure. Great effort. I hate to be negative, but at no point did I think we would win, because we simply never win games like this. I have seen this movie so many times I know the ending by heart. It is so early, I get it, but so infuriating. I really hate it when I get so defeatist because I am by nature a very positive person.

The encouraging thing is NIU wins by 10 with their full roster, and Northern Kentucky is one of the better mid majors in the land. More positives than negatives in this one.

Chicago Huskie, you have not seen a NIU team have two guys score over 24pts and one wasn’t named German. They should’ve won but didn’t. Many positives going forward. The difference in this game was 3pt shooting. I bewith German Huskies run away with this game. Lacey James looks much improved. Give Jaylen Key a few more games to get his rhythm back. I would like to see a lineup going forward of German, Thorpe, Bradley, Key and James. This team will have a chance at a MAC title. We’ve been asking for offense and this team has a solid 4-5 double digit scorers every time out.

When the game goes to two overtime’s it’s basically two even teams. I wished NIU had won but that was a very entertaining game. Both teams had their moments and played hard.

Good effort, should have won. Kudos on the new video board.

We continue the sames as years past...get beat by a team that shoots 3's while we struggle with shooting. Is it not in Monty's playbook? I thought that 3 point shooting was on his agenda to do better at this year...Sure doesn't look it it yet..

They made 6 three pointers. I believe German and Key will provide another 4 a game. This will be a very good NIU team come MAC season and that’s the goal after all.

Tonight was encouraging. Taking an NKU program to 2 OT’s who in 2 years of eligibility has gone to an NCAA Tournament (hanging with Kentucky for 30 minutes) and an NIT shows tangible forward progress. Let’s convert it into wins here on out. BB&T will be a fun trip later on.

Whoa whoa slow up there bud. Northern Kentucky is a fringe top 25 mid major team haha. They are the Horizon League regular season champ, and NIU was without their best player. Disappointing they could not close this out, but this is not a bad loss, at all.

I love how you always give the basketball team a pass. If this was a fringe top 25 football team NIU lost to then you would be calling for Carey’s head. Basketball though? Nahhh. Double standard much?

NKU has been eligible for 2 years. Year 1 they went to the NCAA Tournament and gave Kentucky all they could handle for 30 minutes. Year 2 they won the Horizon and played in the NIT. They play in one of the best mid-major arenas in the country. Very solid measuring stick.

Alright well we play horizon northern kentucky at our place and lose in OT, and call it a good loss morale victory.

While Buffalo plays #13 WVU at their place and goes into OT. Thats a morale victory regardless of outcome.

Wow Buffalo amazing win! Best win for the MAC in a long time.

Buffalo is such an amazing team, the collection of guys they have in this conference is just unreal. I have them going 15-3 in the MAC this year.

Great win by Buffalo. No one feels good about NIU losing a close game tonight!

Buffalo won tonight because CJ Massingberg got hot and went off from 3! They were dead in the water until he got hot. I’m pretty sure NIU could’ve used the MAC’S leading returning scorer tonight. I want Buffalo and MAC teams to do very well in non conference games.
