I seriously believe that when RGB croaks, democrats are going to find a good taxidermist and a remote controlled voice box, and try to keep here propped up there for a few more years.
Wait... are you telling me she's NOT already dead and stuffed?

Look, she already outlived Scalia...and you never really know when your number is up. My step-children's uncle was diagnosed with cancer less than 2 months ago and died Monday. He was only 63.

These are openly socially progressive candidates coming awfully close to winning red states.
1. I think those Democrats were far better candidates than the Republicans they ran against.
2. Younger voters are turned out in this midterm and 40% of younger voters (18-29) identify as democratic socialists
3. The exercises in party purity, which have been going on for 20 years in the Republican party, are now starting to take hold in the Democratic Party. The 90's obsession with being a center left party is being replaced with the a comfortably left of left party in 2018.

Yeah, you really have to catch cancer early.
My sister-in-law was 48 when she was diagnosed with Stage 4. It was just a matter of months -- from July when she was diagnosed to November.

I don't know about Sinema...but The Dems threw money...celebrities...everything into these other three races. Beto outspent Cruz by an outrageous amount... and still lost.
******* Oprah was canvasing for Abrams.
Folks no matter what side of the fence you are on campaign finance reform is greatly needed.

The Republicans had their derp by sending up people like Christine O'Donnell. The Democrats saw that and said ... hey ... let's give it a try too!

Why?
Because Ramirez was a falling down drunk and knew him and might have breathed on him. And Ford was apparently a serious drinker and might have known him and may have even come close enough to breathe on him. She certainly breathed on people who knew him.

The Democrats have been doing issue purges since the 70s. Then they ran the rest of the conservatives and moderates out with Bill Clinton.

If anything, those were probably the far bigger Dem Successes for the day. (They were always going to win the house) it was the ability of far left candidates to attract enough voters to keep races far more competitive than they normally would be. I didn't give either Abrams or Beto a chance, and both managed to close the gaps significantly, to the point no one is still calling Georgia.
What we're seeing is the one thing I don't like. A GOP that is moving far more to the right, and a Democratic party moving far more to the Left. The middle is going to get swallowed whole at the rate it is going.

I understand now. I didn't realize that the Dems were trying to save us from this boorish man. Even if the facts during the testimonies were wrong - the narrative was accurate at least.
Impeach him. Don't know what else to say...

Well at least 3 of them were courteous enough to state exactly what they intended to do. Sinema on the other hand changed her tune and lied while campaigning.
But to be specific, the younger the voters the more likely they are to think socialist. It is what they are being taught in the Public Education System that I keep telling you all needs to be the #1 target of conservatives if we are to preserve our heritage as a nation and our values. "Young Minds Filled with Mush" as Limbaugh has decried since the 80's is one of the biggest reasons. Then add voter fraud, registered legal immigrants, the elderly who have voted Democratic since Roosevelt, and minority block voting and voila, you have a big damn mess on your hands.
I'm sure there is truth to the Suburban Mom syndrome but then look at their ages. They are part of that generations educated since the mid 80's in Public Schools and the most recent grads from college classrooms filled with the far left telling them what free crap the government should provide them.
We have let an alien hand rock the cradle and fill our children's minds with propaganda. We are beginning to reap the whirlwind for having been to preoccupied to educate our own children!
Wake the hell up and quit buying the excuses!

RE: Gillums, O'Roarke, Abrams, Sinema????
I can't speak for the others but Beto made quite an impact in Texas. Every judicial race in Harris County went to the Democrats and quite a few in Fort Bend County did as well. I think he ran a helluva campaign and Ted Cruz said as much in his victory speech.
“I also want to take a moment to congratulate Beto O’Rourke,” Mr. Cruz said. “He poured his heart into that campaign. He worked tirelessly.”
Some in the crowd booed. “Listen, listen,” Mr. Cruz said. “It’s important. He worked tirelessly. He’s a dad, and he took time away from his kids. And I want to also say, millions across this state were inspired by his campaign. They didn’t prevail, and I am grateful the people of Texas chose a better path.”
I'm proud that this race wasn't nearly as ugly as many high profile races were across the country yet voter turnout was huge and enthusiastic for both parties. Each candidate got more than 4 million votes - to put that in perspective in the last Senate race during a midterm year (2014), John Cornyn's winning vote total was about 2.85 million votes. And he won handily.
