I’ll say this once... and it burns me... “GO HUSKIES”
And Go the Huskies did. Another NIU win and we can put this thread to bed.

NIU is due for a quicksand game.

I expect our young QB will come out of the bye week looking really good, and after a good game vs Ball State will be operating at high level.

How about stopping NIU from scoring 50+ points! That's the major concern. Quit pointing the finger at the QB and focus on the real problem. DEFENSE!!!!!

The defense did not cost us the Ohio game, unless you expect the defense to pitch shutouts against the league's top offenses. I don't think we beat Ohio with our 2006 defense...

Have you not been paying attention to Northern Illinois? Beat BYU in Utah allowing only 6 points. #15 is an animal...and now the offense has gone from bad to fairly good.

It will be extremely tough, but can't be intimidated!

Will they be favored to beat them? No. Do they have a punchers chance? Probably better than ours.

Miami is averaging 36 points a game over the last 7. They have a defense with a pulse that is susceptible to the pass...not necessarily NIU's forte. They put up as many points on Buffalo as anyone all year (tied with Army @ 42). They are still playing for bowl eligibility. It is ever so possible that our win over BSU on Tuesday (they play Wed.) might get NIU looking a bit ahead to their matchup with us for the West.

Gotta play the game...

NIU is going to be looking past a game that would win them the West towards another game that would also win them the West? Even if WMU wins Tuesday, if NIU wins Wednesday they clinch. Why would they be looking ahead to WMU?

And Toledo was averaging like 38 a game for the season going into last night lol

Perhaps for all of the same reasons you are looking past them. I'm just saying that you have to play the game.

RE: MAC Championship Scenarios
Miami can score points, and their QB is more experienced than the one we played against vs. Toledo. A couple big plays in the air can make it a tight ballgame. I don't know if our offense has improved or if we've just been playing against worse defenses lately - I'm sure that's a lot of it.

You wont know what a "worse defense" really is until you see the one we will have in store for you brother. Nobody does "worse defense" like WMU this year, and I am certain you will be impressed.
